Im interested in starting the diet, but dont know where I can get my hands on some sashimi, or indeed raw tuna. Has anyone else started the diet in the UK?

Thanks,

Uhh, I don't think the Brittish like my diet; I checked my list, and there is not a single Brittish person with acne that bought my book!!!
People from Brunei to Mexico, from Macedonia to Greenland, but no Brittish!

I know there are lots of sushi restaurants in the UK though...Check this website for a list of all the sushi restaurants in your city: http://www.sushi.infogate.de/

Since tuna cannot contain parasites, it only needs to be fresh (and not have been in the freezer!), so you might try a local fish retailer. Make sure to ask whether the fish has been in the freezer. Most of them lie, so you better first lie to him: Tell him you are allergic in such a way that you suffocate if the fish has been in the freezer, due specific heterocyclic amines that originate in frozen fish, but that you want to have raw fish anyway. Then ask him whether he can guarantee that the fish has not been in the freezer at any point during the whole distribution line (thus it does not need to be 'his fault' and he therefore can more easily admit that he cannot guarantee this). If he guarantees it anyway, there is a pretty good chance that he is honest.

However;
If is far easier to buy fresh raw eggs, and add the yolks to a fruitshake or orange juice. It is easy to determine whether they are fresh and do not contain too much bacteria, and the eggs have for sure never been frozen!

I am gaining a lot of wisdom on this board from Wai and Wiseguy!
