| Aquarius 08-23-2001 05:04 AM | Wai, Are there no external factors that can cause pinched off tallow canals, and therefore acne, in your theory? Or at least influence it? |
| Wai 08-23-2001 06:22 AM | Besides the diet, things like hormones and stress are very influential too of course, but external factors can only cause acne if they somehow become an internal factor too; influencing the secretion of sebum or the amount of water retained in the skin.
quote: Okay, when you suspect them to be the cause, you can only try to find out whether this is true or not.
quote: If you cannot sweat properly, and therefore the water remains in the skin while new water is transported to the skin for the cooling down process, then this indeed increases the water pressure in the skin, which pinches off sebum canals. |
| Aquarius 08-23-2001 09:20 AM | Yes, my face becomes red. But isn't this normal? I will experiment more, like you suggest. |
| Wai 08-24-2001 09:34 AM | I actually meant to ask about the redness in combination with the sweating; do you easily / immediately sweat when physically active? (compared to others) [ August 24, 2001: Message edited by: Wai ] |
| Del Eaton 08-24-2001 10:32 AM | I do not mean to butt in to this conversation (it's going so well) but what about people that sweat easily compared to those thar don't? I do not sweat that easy and would like to know why? When I was younger and was a lot more outdoor active, I would not sweat where others would be sweating before they even went out side! I still don't swear and I cannot take the heat. It zaps my energy so fast and I turn into a noodle. Does any of this mean anything? I have a red head or did before the diet. It is still to a small degree red but very exceptable. Mine is(was) also acne rosacea, with not severe breakouts. |
| Aquarius 08-24-2001 01:19 PM | Do i easily sweat? Hm, don't know. Ofcourse i do sweat when active, although it needs some time, but it's difficult to say if i sweat differently compared to others. |
| goracergo 08-24-2001 01:42 PM | In my experience, wearing a bandana or hat while you are running or playing sport can cause acne, and this would be considered an external factor so... |
| Wai 08-25-2001 08:59 AM | You are right racer, anything that can pinch off sebum canals can cause acne...hadn't thought about that! Aquarius; if you would have problems sweating then it would be easier to say that the (non-)sweating can cause acne too. Now you need to rely on your own experiments. Del, how's the sweating lately? | Veronica 08-25-2001 11:44 AM | So-called "Telephone acne" may also be due to the pinching off of sebum canals, from the constant pressure of the phone on the face? |
| Del Eaton 08-25-2001 12:43 PM | Hi Wai, This is so much fun with everybody! Long time, no see!! I will have to pay close attention to see if I am sweating now. I think I am sweating now!! So that's a good thing? That's because of the diet?? I don't go to the gym. All this summer I have been pretty much limited to what activity I can do because of my broken foot. Sept 10th the boot comes off!! and my road bike is ready and I'm thinking of doing thi chi. The bike is just for short fun things not my reg exercise. I think the thi chi will be my reg exercise. I probally spelled it wrong. I know I have to find something that I can do on a reg basis, not too streneous because of my "condition". Ha Ha Ha (that was funny). I have so much energy on this diet that I hardly ever sit down except to talk to you guys. Okay I'm talking too much. Sombody else talk for awhile. Bye |
