| Del Eaton 08-17-2001 08:12 AM | I have been getting my fresh eggs at a farm where I buy the eggs that have just been gathered that day! Of course these are vegetarian fed hens! I have been consuming 2 eggs a day since 8-1-01. Immediately like overnight a rash on my arm that I have had off and on for about 6 years and steady for the past 18 months cleared. It is still gone!My question has to do with checking for freshness. I do all the stuff I'm supposed to do to check for freshness as told by Wai and on her site. When I put the egg in the cool salted water sometimes the egg will lay on its side on the bottom and sometimes the big end of the egg will float up, leaving the smallest end of the egg on the bottom. Does that mean that it is not so fresh? OR does the whole egg have to float in order for it to be non-fresh? Also a few days ago I noticed that I was not sleeping as well as when I first started the fresh egg yolk so I have increased it to 3 egg yolks. So did I do good or what? So far I can't tell. |

| Del Eaton 08-17-2001 01:41 PM | A lot of my egg yolks break when I crack them, but I know for a fact they are very fresh! Also I noticed that some have little tiny dark spots on the egg sack but not in the yolk. I have been eating thoses egg yolks. I found one with blood and I tossed it. I found some that looked funny so I tossed them too! What causes all of the above? About increasing the egg yolks. I do have mild acne. I want to increase to insure good sleep. So maybe I should go to 4 egg yolks and see what happens. So while I am experimenting I should watch for signs of acne getting worse and when my sleep is good I know I have enough? So no way I can get too much as long as I let my body tell me? I'm a "little person" about 100 lbs 5ft 2in. Are you saying that is not a consideration? |
| speedy 08-17-2001 02:48 PM | Del, why, at 100lbs of body weight, would you need to consume 4 egg yolks per day? I could be way off, but that sounds like way more than is necessary for someone your size. Could someone shed some light on this for me? Seth |
| Wiseguy 08-18-2001 01:35 AM | Seth is right, 2 egg yolks should already be more than enough... So you are obviously not lacking good cholesterol at all, and there must be something else going on. There are soooo many factors influencing sleep. With this diet you address only a number of these factors. (see http://www.13.waisays.com) I don't know what, but is must be something else. |
| Del Eaton 08-18-2001 11:26 AM | I went to the site and reread it. I am doing all those things! I went back to only 2 egg yolks. I thought I might start having an avocado in my evening munch food meal. Is there a limit on how many avacados a person can have during the day? What about stress. What if all of a sudden I have more things to do and think about than usual? Would that affect anything? I am a night owl. I awake between 6 and 7am and do not go to bed before 11pm or 1am. When I go to bed, I am very tired but do not fall asleep right away. I was at first but not now. At first being 8-1-01. When I do go to sleep, I do not wake up until morning. Maybe I am needing less sleep! Going to bed at such a late hour poses another problem! You know the rule about not eating anything after 7:30 pm? Well I get real hungry and it doesn't hit me until I go to bed! I can not eat the raisins and butter so I tried last night to eat the dates. I was not sure if I should have a fat other than the butter because I didn't want to increase my energy. Last night I had some brazil nuts with the dates. That didn't work as my stomach was bloated! | Del Eaton 08-18-2001 11:35 AM | Seth, I have been on this diet for awhile though not exactly as it should be. I am finding out that it has to be exactly. But I am at the point of trying to fit it to my own body needs. So I was reading how some of you (maybe not you) were taking more egg yolks for different reasons and thought I would experiment to see how my body reacted to more then 2 egg yolks. I was hoping that more would be the key to more sound sleep. I don't think so now. |

Since you are doing it for osteoporosis, your approach to it is understandably different. Most of us were on the strict Sample Diet, with no cooked food, for at least two weeks, so it is much easier to tell what an individual food does to us, and what our unique requirements are. I'm a night owl, too, but I try to force myself to go to bed by 11, although it's usually midnight. But I wake up early, 6:30, and definitely need less sleep on Wai's diet. Staying up late, I do get hungry again. I tried the raisins with butter, delicious, and recently got some virgin coconut oil, which also tasted great with raisins. It would probably taste great with dates, too. Just be sure to have some kind of fat with the fruit, otherwise you won't be able to fall asleep. |
