| Author | Topic: aren't eggs bad for the liver? |
| himeki 05-28-2003 03:09 PM | basically, eggs aren't even meant for human consumption. I've heard that we don't even need to consume cholesterol, since our body produces all the cholesterol we already need. A friend of mine, who's a chinese herbs specialist, forbids that I consume eggs since it puts a strain on the liver; and so the liver can't nourish and cleanse the skin. What do you think Wai? I've already got a weak liver as it is. =) |
| Sanna 05-29-2003 04:54 AM | is the cholesterol in wild salmon sufficient? for women? (I have heavy periods) If I don't eat any eggs, just 200g of fish daily? |
| Wai 05-29-2003 12:02 PM | quote:oh yes, they are! since millions of years, they have been easy prey for humans; eggs dont fly away, and we were / are intelligent enough to spot birds with eggs quote:part of the required cholesterol is produced by the body, just as with vitamin B2, B3 etc. the simple fact that your body produces vitamin B2, B3 and cholesterol, does not mean that you dont need to ingest these by diet around menstruation women lose a lot of cholesterol; which may result in moodswings, depression, aggression (due to the influence of cholesterol on serotonin metabolism) if we all would produce sufficient cholesterol, nobody would have too low cholesterol levels. but a number of scientific studies have shown that in people that commit, or try to commit suicide, the cholesterol level is clearly lower... quote:For more info about good and bad cholesterol, check out this page: http://www.13.waisays.com/cholesterol quote:only bad cholesterol does, not good cholesterol... (does he know the difference?) quote:good cholesterol is no burden for the liver at all ![]() |
| Wai 05-29-2003 12:05 PM | quote:maybe it is, maybe not (the production of cholesterol is individually different) see how you feel if you dont eat the eggs, and compare your periods with those you have if you do eat eggs all the time |
| engesongwok 05-29-2003 09:16 PM | what about men and cholestrol? is there any time in which men loose a lot of cholestrol? I feel moody at times, but I find that I feel that way much much less eating fruit and raw egg yolk as you suggest. Must be doing something! |
| RRM 05-30-2003 05:31 AM | Yes, men may need a lot of dietary cholesterol as well. (depending on how much is produced by the body) I simply feel much better when consuming a lot of cholesterol; I clearly feel the difference. But, as far as I know, there isn't really an occasion where we loose a lot of cholesterol. RRM |
