| engesongwok 02-23-2003 04:46 PM | Does anyone have information about consuming raw egg yolk from eggs other than chicken eggs? A friend of mine gets quail eggs at sushi bars, but usually very expensive. I just watched a documentary on PBS about people who eat raw sea turtle egg yolks in very expensive drinks. (Yes, there are very highly regulated harvests of these eggs still) PS-does anyone raise their own animals for eggs? |

| engesongwok 02-27-2003 01:36 PM | Well, I don't blame you for being angry about people consuming eggs of endangered animals. But they do it! I hope you didn't think I was advocating anything. What I wanted to know was how it made people feel IF they were consuming such things. If they stopped eating these turtles and their eggs for a decade, their numbers might increase and maybe they won't be endangered anymore. There is also a possiblity that there could be other sources of reptile eggs or bird eggs which are NOT endangered, and do NOT contain dangerous levels of bacteria. |
