This woman that i spoke to a while back about your diet called me last night to ask me a few questions. She is convinced she's allergic to raw egg yolks....that they make her break out with cystic acne (she's doing your diet fine as far as i can tell from what she's told me) she's been on it for a little over 3 weeks. This is her 2nd time trying it. I told her that it's most likely something else doing it. But from everything she told me it seems that she's doing everything perfectly. I told her to go off the yolks for a week to see if it makes a difference. Do you think it could be the egg yolks?? She doesn't own a computer. Thanks Wai!!

Wai, can you explain again why you think people who are allergic to eggs most likely won't be to the raw yolks? thanks

It is possible in theory, that she reacts allergically to contaminants in the eggs (antibiotic residues, heavy metals in the feedings), but if that is the case, she would react allergically to cooked eggs too.
Does she?

An allergy is an over-reaction of your body's defense system to strange proteins in the blood.
Normally, dietary proteins are mostly decomposed into amino acids, or small peptides, at most.
But when food is cooked, dietary proteins are damaged, which makes it harder for the digestive enzymes to decompose dietary protein. (because the enzymes are specialists that can only separate specific intact amino acids; and when an amino acid is damaged, it no longer is that same amino acid)
Thus, more protein will remain intact, while damaged (and thus possibly with an unnatural molecular composition), and may end up in the blood stream.
Whether this protein really ends up in the blood, depends on the permeability of the intestinal mucosa, which is individually different. (and determines your susceptibility to allergies; that is why people with allergies often are allergic to multiple foods)

Please tell me if I need to elaborate.

She did say that she suspects cooked eggs cause the same reaction...I'll share this info with her...Thank you!!

Eggs, especially the whites of eggs, are often contra-indicated for patients who suffer from both eczema and acne. Can someone speak to this issue? If urged to banish eggs in order to an alleviation of eczema, how shall I get my complete (AKA "essential") proteins, sufficient iron, and necessary B- vitamins? Do Brazil nuts and avocado contain complete proteins?

My acne condition is improving even after introducing raw egg yolk, but the eczema condition is being aggravated. I'm trying to ascertain the cause of the latter. It could be the recent intoduction of citrus, I suppose, or even tomato.

Gratefully,
PAP

Hi PAP, welcome!

yes, but that goes for egg whites in general and cooked egg yolks
So far, all people that are allergic to eggs and tried my diet, did not react adversely to fresh raw egg yolks, but, of course, there may be exceptions

yes, even when consuming fruits and Brazil nuts only, you will sufficiently ingest all required amino acids (protein); check out this website
but, consuming some fresh raw fish too, you will abundantly ingest everything you need

You best submit your version of the diet to the nutrient calculator, to check its nutritional contents, and if your diet appears to contain too little of a certain nutrient, you check out this list to get to know what fruits/foods are high in that particular nutrient, so that you can add it to your diet
then re-submit your version of the diet to the calculator

you can start consuming fresh raw fish instead of fresh raw egg yolk to check out whether this makes a difference...
if that doesn't work, you can eliminate tomatoes from your diet, or citrus, until you have the wanted results
