Do Whole foods cage free, hormone free eggs pass the test? The medium eggs are always only 99 cents/dozen!!!Or should i buy organic fertile eggs instead. What is your description of the 'perfect egg'???

That depends.
Organic eggs are not always better, simply because your first priority regarding eating fresh raw egg yolks, is that the eggs need to be fresh. Of course, there are other important factors, but your number 1 priority is freshness.

Unfortunately, the sales volume of normal eggs is much greater than that of organic eggs, and therefore, it is much easier to ensure the freshness of 'normal' egs in the store, than that of organic eggs.
On the average, organic eggs are less fresh.

But, of course you would prefer fresh eggs from hens that are fed their natural foods only (grass, life insects, raw grains), so that there is no accumulation of bad fats in the eggs, for example.

The perfect egg is both fresh and organic, from hens that have been fed their natural foods only.

are fertile eggs preferred? I was told that they have a higher nutrient content and also retain more nutrients when left at room temp.
And what about brown vs. white?

no.

not true. Unless you destroy nutrients due to heating, freezing or rotting, the nutrient contents will remain the same. (fruits that have been kept in the fridge don't ripe well, and therefore contain less nutrients, but egg yolks are no ripening fruits)

They are both ok. just make sure they are fresh.

I'm about to start eating egg yolks after my 2 weeks laid off from antibiotics. Some doubts I'd like to clarify:-

1. I assume eggs from local grocery is ok so long as they pass the "11 fresh egg guidelines" rite?

2. I heard someone mentioning about vegetarian fed hen eggs. Does it matter(regarding acne)?

3. I plan to eat the egg yolk once a day and that will be the time I'm inactive for 1.5 hours. Should be ok rite?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! [Smile]

Anyone raising there own chickens? Anyone feeding them live insects? (or other things?) Any company growing eggs in a 'very close' to natural setting?
