| monica 09-11-2002 07:54 AM | should raw fish be eaten in comination/directly after fruit, just as egg yolks are? Or is it best eaten alone? |
| Wai 09-11-2002 01:44 PM | quote:Yes. quote:No, you need the sugars from the fruits / juices. To prevent gasses and impairing your digestion, you need to prevent bacterial decomposition of protein (of especially the sulfur containing amino acids). And, if you eat whole fruits after having consumed fish / egg yolks, the intake of the fiber may trigger the bacterial decomposition of both fiber and protein. That is why you need to eat fruits first, and then fish / yolks right after. If you wouldn't, then the blood sugar level may, like always, drop after a while, but you cannot have fruits! Consuming first the fruits or juices, and then the fish / yolks, the blood sugar level will be sufficiently high, and will remain sufficient because the fats and protein from fish / yolks maintain your blood sugar level. |
| AussieShep 09-30-2002 12:43 PM | Is the only reason to eat fruits after the fish or eggs is to avoid cramps? How would that be different if fish/eggs are eaten right after the fruits? Should nuts be eaten in a certain order as well? |
| Wai 09-30-2002 12:49 PM | quote:NOT fruits after fish / yolks, but yolks / fish after fruits. Yes. And you should consume juice / fruits right before to make sure you don't need to consume it right after. (regarding energy) quote:That is the way to do it. quote:Brazil nuts, macadamia nuts and walnuts are all over 60% fat, so the order of eating does not really matter, though it is better to eat them before the yolks /fish than right after. (they contain some fiber) |
| AussieShep 10-02-2002 11:51 AM | quote:So then why do you suggest consuming yolk with o.j. and not after drinkin it? |
| Wai 10-03-2002 08:05 AM | quote:Consuming egg yolk with OJ is equally as okay as consuming the OJ first. Just don't consume the yolks first, and then the fruits/juice (though juice isn't as bad after yolks as fruits are; because of the fiber). |
