| julian farah 09-30-2002 08:33 AM | Dear Wai, I walk everyday 1 hour and doing some work-out, (basically for arms, back and shoulders), is it possible to lose fat and gain muscles at the same time ? My best regards, Julian |
| Wai 09-30-2002 02:49 PM | Yes, it is very well possible; it just that gaining muscle weight does not SUPPORT losing weight, and vice versa. Working out, you wount see the result very clearly, because that is much easier when you are completely lean, but you can see the results in the power that you gain, and then, once you are lean, you see a beautiful muscled body! |
| julian farah 10-01-2002 12:03 PM | Iīm on my way to do it, I weighed myself today and have lost 32.5 kilos (71.5 pounds) since the begining of the diet, itīs incredible !!!! By the way, after almost five months Iīm going to try eating fruits again the next week, please let me know which ones you recommend for the re-begining, it supossed that the fruit most go easy and fast by the intestines, I donīt know if have egg yolks or olive oil after the fruit, which one do you recommnend? Take care, Julian |
| Wai 10-01-2002 01:09 PM | 71.5 pounds??? CONGRATULATIONS!!! How much did you weigh? quote:What exactly do you eat now? Do you eat avocadoes? Tomatoes? Cucumber? quote:Both are perfect, but it is more practical to have egg yolks only once a day (because you need to remain physically inactive afterwards). So, in general, you need oil after fruits (or Brazil nuts for example) |
| julian farah 10-01-2002 07:21 PM | Thank you very much, when I began your diet my weight was almost 150 kilos, I always had have problems with weight, but never that much, my height is 1.80 mts. Since one month ago I basically eat (daily): -Three egg yolks -Raw salmon, 200 or 300 grams -Tomatoes -Cucumbers -Brazil nuts -Walnuts -I Avocado -Raw red onion with the salad -Olive oil, cold pressed Once in a while: -Steamed veggies like broccoli, with butter -Raw radish with the salad -Pine nuts -1 or two "Mexican tortillas" made with corn flour Sometimes I get some reaction to the egg yolks, a little diarrhea, then I didnīt eat them for two or three days, you told me before that I most started with some drops and increase little by little, I didnīt do that because I had never reacted with yolks before, could it be the reason? I feel sometimes the need of sugar foods, not cravings but feel like I need it, I hope I can eat again fruits without sympthoms. Again, thank you very much for your congratulations, itīs very important to me and a great push to follow with my goal. Julian |
| Wai 10-02-2002 01:23 PM | quote:Okay, so, you already eat fruits: tomatoes, cucumbers and avocado. Like other fruits, they also contain sugars. Not much though. It seems reasonable to gradually increase the intake of sugars, by gradually eating fruits that contain a little bit more sugar. BTW-1; Brazil nuts (3%) and walnuts (11%) contain some sugar. BTW-2; corn flour contains A LOT of sugar: 66%!!! (the decomposition of starch already starts in the mouth) Anyway, you can gradually start eating fruits containing more sugars: The total sugar (carbohydrates) contents of fruits: 0.4% avocado 2% cucumber 2% papaya (pawpaw) 3% tomato 3% acerola (west indian cherry) 4% carambola 5% akee 5% raspberry 5% currant 6% strawberry 6% blackberry 6% guava 6% olives 6% chayote 6% billberry 7% quince 7% grapefruit 7% roseapple 7% prickly pear 8% orange 8% watermelon 9% apricot 9% peach 9% kiwi 9% longan 10% cherry 10% granadilla 10% plum 10% mandarin 10% loquat (Japanese medlar) 10% naranjilla 11% apple 11% tree tomato 11% cashew fruit 12% pear 12% greengage 12% pineapple 12% mango 12% muskmelon 13% cherimoya 13% fig 14% mirabelle 14% jaboticaba 14% matai (chinese water chestnut) 15% grapes 15% oval kumquat (nagami) 15% rambutan 16% pomegranate 16% persimmon (kakiplum) 16% mangosteen 17% carissa (Natal plum) 17% litchi (lychee) 19% sapodilla 20% banana 21% sapote 24% jujube (Chinese date) 29% durian 47% dried plums 48% dried apricot 55% dried figs 57% tamarind 64% dried grapes (sultana) 65% dried dates quote:Ah, your bowels are still sensitive I guess. If the eggs are not so fresh, they can easily cause diarrhea; especially when your bowels are sensitive. They will get used to the egg yolks; just make sure they are very fresh, especially for the moment. quote:Yes, you can very clear feel that through the serotonin system; if the blood sugar level is a bit low, less tryptophan is taken up in the brain and converted into serotonin. Serotonin is one of the most dominant neurotransmitters regarding 'feelings' (mood / general happyness etc.). |
| julian farah 10-02-2002 05:16 PM | I will take care with the freshness of the yolks. About the "tortillas", I didnīt knew that them could be so high in carbohidrates, one piece weight 25 grams aprox, thats mean more or less 16.6 carbs, much more than some whole sugar fruits and without vitamins, etc. I guess how easy we can make mistakes..., even though in the bag says 8 carbs per piece, anyway no more tortillas for the moment, better start with some fruits. I will stay in touch the next month, hope with very good news. Julian |
| Wai 10-03-2002 06:43 AM | quote:That is because the tortilla is not just flour... |
| RRM 05-30-2003 06:43 AM | This is what Michael wrote in weightloss forum, but what is more appropriate in this 'gaining muscles' forum:quote:I'm 1.90 meter tall, I am lean and weigh 90 kg. When I was less doing little exercises, and did not mind my energy management much (while being on the diet), my weight was only 76 kg. At this point, I don't want any more extra muscles. I can, but I don't want to, because I would become too big. On this diet, you can become as muscular as you want, because you can perfectly manage your energy and protein intake. That is what becoming muscular is about: 1) Exercising properly. 2) Consuming sufficient energy all the time to enable creating more muscles, and to prevent the breakdown of muscle protein into available energy. 3) Consuming enough protein and other nutrients.
