| PhiVan 06-05-2003 12:20 PM | Is there a safe and EFFECTIVE way to dye my hair without all the friggin chemicals in commercial hair-dyeing products? ![]() |
| bookworm 06-05-2003 02:16 PM | I have seen alternatives in health food stores. I don't know what color you're looking for, but since I have reddish-brown hair, I've considered using natural henna to boost my color and cover some gray. I have seen henna in the stores and this herb is often used in shampoos for natural highlights for all hair colors. Have you done an Internet search for products? I know the products are out there, but I don't know any specific brand names. ~Chrys |
| RRM 06-07-2003 12:55 PM | There is no effective way that is not damaging to your hair. The reason for this is that to give hair a different color, it needs to get bleached in order to enable the hair to absorb a color. Simply 'painting' your hair doesn't work because the color will get rinsed off anyway. Only if the hair dye is aggressive enough (bleaching your hair) can it make the new color last. In this case: The more effective the hair dye = The more harmful to your hair. RRM |

| RRM 06-11-2003 04:04 PM | All colouring agents are bad to some extend, and the longer they last, the worse they are. In the end, your natural colour will probably suit you best. RRM |
