There are the mesomorphs, ectomorphs and endomorphs. Is it probable that the ?endomorphs have more trouble losing weight than the other two types? I have noticed many people with acne on this website do not need to lose weight, in fact many of them have trouble putting on weight. Could there be a body type which is tall and slim and has skin problems (and also has trouble gaining muscle) that corresponds to the ectomorph body type?
I'm a mesomorph: I put on muscle easily and can put on and lose weight easily (by following bad diets - crash diets and over-exercising; although I have alot of problems losing weight on this diet - too addicted to prepared foods). I am solid rather than obese and I don't have any skin problems. I know I put out alot of adrenalin and cortisol in response to stress.
I am wondering if a mesomorph can ever become an ectomorph (which is what I aspire to be)...

Wanna swap? [Smile] I am an ectomorph and would love to be a meso... I have a very hard time gaining any weight... and Wai's diet isnt helping in the weight gaining department... why would you want to be a skinnyass [Smile] ? Dont get me wrong, I am not a skinnyass, in fact over 80 kgs and benchpressing 120 kgs, but that came as a result of years of weight training and eating until I puke all day... and I hate when I see mesomorphs on a diet of beer, cigs, coke and burgers who are stronger than me and never had a pimple in their life [Mad] lucky bastards.

Regardless of what categorisation you applie, some people always gain / lose weight more easily than others, simply because we are individually very different.
But, no matter how difficult it may be for some, it is never impossible.

It is certainly true that people with acne on the average are slim, and have more trouble gaining muscle weight than losing overweight.
I suspect that it's about the hormones that both influence the production of sebum and co-regulate your energy metabolism.

Many aspects of our individuality are genetic, and cannot be changed (not naturally, that is). And whether you tend to gain / lose weight easily, is mainly genetically determined, I suspect.

Yes, everyone can, just takes different amounts of effort. Its like, if losing weight is the competition, the ectomorph gets a motorbike, mesomorph gets running shoes, and endomorph gets to crawl on his knees [Smile]

Yes! I noticed that as well. I dont see many endomorphs with acne... what would be interesting is to see if ectomorphs whose metabolism slows down as they age, get less acne problems as they age as well? Any ectos over 30 who are reading this willing to share?
