| engesongwok 05-19-2003 05:49 PM | This weekend I ate at a fast food resturant. Within the hour after eating it, I got severe bloodshot eyes. I also got a really bad headache, and felt rather 'wired', like I got a lot of second hand smoke from being in a smoky environment. Has anyone else experienced this? I told some friends, and family. I was particularly interested in what my sister would have to say, as she used to work in this particular food chain. Most everyone seems to scoff at the idea that the food had anything to do with it. They are sure that I must have touched my eye, or gotten dust or pollen in it. I am open to that idea, I suppose that allergies could have caused the headache as well. What are your thoughts or experiences? |

Automatically, the opposite is true as weel: the less these receptors are activated, the more sensitive they become. That is why you will become more susceptible to the influence of beta-carbolines, opioid peptides and other active molecules (like hormones), the longer you are on Wai's diet. So, if you then go MacDonald's one day, after having been on the diet for quite a while, it will strike you as you have taken weird drugs. When I occasionally try some bad food (to test my skin's reaction), I experience physical responses as well. That is why I limit my occasional (once in 3 months) experiments to cooked foods that contain the least of such substances; very mildly cooked (easy to digest-) veggies. Such physical responses are very interesting. Anyone else? RRM |
