I hope I don't sound like I am promoting a product. I came accross some information about Colostrum at a health food store. The information didn't quite sound right to me. Here is the main claim:

"... Colostrum is the pre-milk fluid produced from the mother's mammary glands during the first 72 hours after birth. Colostrum provides life-supporting immune and growth factors that insure the health and vitality of the newborn.
After reviewing many years of scientific and medical research we believe bovine (cow's) colostrum is one of the most important health-giving, disease-fighting and anti-aging superfoods ever discovered. And, bovine colostrum is remarkably compatible for human consumption."

The information I came accross said that early humans were actually more robust and muscular from consuming this substance in pre-history.( I am not sure how they can say such a thing)

Personally, I am skeptical of this claim. What comments if any does anyone have for this product?

indeed, how can they make such a claim?
in pre-history, there was no cattle-keeping, and thus no colostrum from other animals.
So, in order to consume this colostrum, they must have taken it from the women that just had given birth. so, then the babies would have starved, and for a grown up man to consume the colostrum continously, that would have required the life of many babies...
This would have eliminated the reproduction of such humans, which would have wiped them out after only one generation...

so, no can do
