Hello,

Is Oracort, in small amounts, considered very harmful?

Oracort is used to treat lesions in one's mouth that may otherwise take a long time to heal and be fairly painful (and get infected, etc.). Not a medical necessity as far as I know, more of a convenience.

Its active ingredient is triamcinolone acetonide
(a corticosteroid; more info at this medsafe site on Oracort).

It's in such a small amount (7.5g/tube) that I would be very surprised if it is harmful for short-term use, but I thought I would check.

Thanks!
Wai

it contains only 0.1% triamcinolone acetonide, which isn't much
you are saying "short term" use, which isn't very harmful, no
corticosteroids break down both diseased and healthy cells, so use it no longer than necessary
i hope you read about using it no longer than 7 days
