| jposamen 02-27-2003 08:42 PM | A friend of mind has brought to my attention an interesting diet: The Alkaline Diet. I want to know what you think about it. In brief, it claims that pH balance in the gut is vital to one's health, and if the pH is too acidic instead of alkaline (basic), then we risk falling ill. Our pH becomes to acidic either when we (A) eat too much acid-producing food or (B) combine foods in such a way that they inhibit proper digestion. Here're two links for the alkaline diet: http://www.naturalhealthschool.com/acid-alkaline.html http://www.permacult.com.au/probiotics/acid-alkaline-food.html (I'm still looking for an alkaline diet website that gives me the cold hard facts about which foods to combine, and which cause acidity or alkalinity. Most websites are either compromised by commercialism or just not scientific enough. If you find a better site let me know.) -Jordan- |
