| PhiVan 02-14-2003 12:36 AM | No matter what I eat, I find that I still need caffeine to feel good. I'm talking caffeine from coffee, from Soda, and even from caffeine pills. I don't have a problem with acne or weight, so I want to know how okay (or not) is for our general health...thanks |
| Wai 02-14-2003 07:31 AM | like sooo many substances in cooked foods, caffeine has mildly toxic properties, and therefore isn't healthy, but, if you do drink coffee, but don't eat cooked foods, you still ingest waaay less toxic substancesquote:no, you don't, that's just your perception I'm pretty sure you haven't exhausted all dietary options to improve your energy levels can you describe your diet for one day? |
| PhiVan 02-14-2003 01:24 PM | For Breakfast: raw nuts and dried fruits Lunch:munch food meal Dinner: avocados salad with lots of olive oil caffeines give me a buzz, like a little high. ![]() |
| Wai 02-16-2003 02:26 PM | excuse me? you are having just 3 meals a day? no wonder that your blood energy level goes down too much a few times a day... Please read the "gaining muscles" forum carefully... and then adapt your diet properly, and you'll see what i mean... |
| JessWolfe 04-27-2003 02:40 PM | Hi Wai! I've really enjoyed reading your book, but I have a few questions (and am too tired to ask more than two right now! :0) You mention that for the morning meal/drink you can have coffee... but everything I have heard about caffeine is negative... that it causes stress and acne and so on... the reason I ask is because I dont want to give it up!So what is your take? Why do you think it's ok? Thanks! |

After the sample diet, coffee is considered relatively harmless. quote:From my own experience (I have severe cystic acne if I don't maintain this diet), I know that coffee is one of the least harmfull 'munch foods', regarding acne. Caffeine elicits similar hormonal responses as mild stress does, but so does falling in love. Caffeine does not cause stress in me; I experience coffee as pleasant, while I don't experience stress as pleasant. In my view, coffee is a pleasant and relatively harmless break from the strict diet, accepted by my skin. |
