| engesongwok 01-27-2003 12:25 PM | I came accross a statement from an Indian book on nutrition. In the book it states that eating too much raw food can cause malabsorption syndrome, where the food is passed through without extracting any nutrition. I have also heard of people loosing the ability to digest any food from eating a completely raw food diet. It usually takes several years for this to happen. I am finding excellent results from the diet after one month. I no longer need coffee or tea to stay awake during the day, and I don't seem to need antidepressents either. My eyes are open and bright, my skin smooth and soft. Its amazing the difference! I want to continue with the diet, but I am afraid that sometime down the road I might encounter some problem that won't show up until its too late! Like loosing teeth or getting a weak digestion! thank you. |

Once you are past that initial stage (if it happens at all), your stool is perfectly okay, and does not pass through too fast anymore. quote:yes, that can happen if you eat raw grains and vegetables, containing too much enzyminhibitors. quote:there are many people on this diet, and so far, NO ONE reported an increase in cavities (and certainly not loosing teeth!!!) A weak digestion can only be the result of eating the wrong raw foods; you need to eat raw foods that can be digested in their raw form PERFECTLY. (fruits, nuts, egg yolks, salmon, tuna) |
| engesongwok 01-27-2003 02:24 PM | Thank you for your timely response! (kind of repeating the e-mail) No, I generally don't have much trouble with acne. I have followed the general advice from the book, "Acne can be cured". I strictly followed that advice for a number of years, with excellent results. I then ate whatever, for a number of years, with only occational one or two zits every couple of months. (I do tend to have skin that is dry, and scalp that is dry. Both problems are disappearing while following your dietary advice.) Later, I developed depression, and elevated cholestrol. The doctors advised that I see a nutrionist, and go on anti-depressants. I still have yet to see the nutrionist. I have the idea that their information will be out of date by many decades. (Here I am judging them without having even heard what they have to say. I can only guess as the clinic suggested several drugs of choice for depression) Thank you, James ![]() |
