eczema can be a response to a bad diet; a lack of dietary fat, or too much 'dirty' protein, but it can also be caused by environmemtal factors; substances your skin is exposed to (in skin products, clothes, polluted air etc.)
So, yes, in some with eczema the diet may eliminate the eczema, but not in others.

i cannot recall anyone with eczema on the diet

I've treated many patients with eczema successfully with diet alone.(one of my kids as well) Medical research using double studies state that 70-80% of the moderate-severe eczema cases are triggered by various foods. They haven't bother testing the mild cases because they feel hydrocortisone creams do a good job. I personally feel the mild cases would respond well with a food elimnation diet. The top 10 foods are eggs, milk, peanuts, soybeans, fish, wheat, citrus, corn, tomatoes and strawberries. It's usually just one or two of these foods that triggers the genetic tendency. I've personally had the best results eliminating diary and wheat from patients diet. The eggs would likely be ok if they were eating only the raw yolk. Good luck, Daniel [Smile]
