Hello!

I am greatly alarmed at my shedding hair. I am shedding a lot and beginning to see some sparse patches. [Eek!] I am on the 13th day of the diet. While the diet may have something or nothing at all to do with the shedding, there are three factors that I think may be attributed to it(my hair had been shedding previously but not at this increasingly alarming rate):

1. Not eating enough fruit/fat combination.
2. Hard Minerals from the tap water for washing my hair (I now wash it every other day and, sometimes, every other two days.
3. The natural tea tree oil shampoo I use to fight flakes and itchiness (the shampoo boasts of having no sodium laurel sulfates (spelling?) but, it has parabens)

What is the best diet for the hair? I assume it's the same one with the skin.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Sunny,
It's not the diet, that is for sure: your hair particularly needs good fats and vitamins B, which are both abundantly present in this diet.

The sparse patches may indicate alopetia...
A girl that lives around the corner had alopetia. after I adviced her to eliminate all relations that gave her stress, she broke up with someone close, and regained her livelyness and joy in life, and a little later, her alopetia was gone...
She has incredibly beuatiful hair now.
Is there any stress in your life?

Lyn,
Are you consuming enough fat?
Do you consume fresh raw animal food regularly?
Are you losing weight involuntarily?

Yes. Acne. [Wink]

Acne aside, my job could be a factor (which may also contribute to the acne).

I do meditate a lot more now, which helps alleviate stress.

Wai, does hard mineral in tap water contribute to shedding hair at all?

You're a library of helpful information. I would have never heard of alopetia if not for you. Thank you!

I was doing so well but lately i've been neglecting myself a bit and losing some weight. Getting so busy..... I will try to do better. What i'm eating is good, i'm just not eating enough of it i believe. That would do it, huh? Thanks Wai [Cool]

Wai, do you know if eating too many brazil nuts could cause hair thinning due to it's radium content?....I really have to stop myself from eating too many of them ..they go wonderfully with the fruit... I'm making sure to eat perfectly after realizing that my hair is alot thinner...yikes! Thank you for your time!

Its interesting as I have experienced an INCREASE in hair growth while trying the diet suggestions associated with this forum. I have also noticed that my nails have gotten a lot thicker. There is actually a ridge on my nails at the base, from the new thickness. Its about 1/4 of the wai up now. I estimate that this is about the amount of growth I would have experienced since starting the "diet".

This is nothing to do with the other posts on this thread but...

Since i have been on the diet, due to the olive oil my hair has got a bit thicker.

But it is still fine and dry (so i put this styling cream into it) i feel all the chemicals are damaging my hair.

My question is, im am about to order some virgin cocunut oil online, could i put this in my hair when i get it. Could i apply virgin olive oil to my hair, like you can on your skin?

thanks

hi, i was wondering if you had any advice on how to make make your hair healthier/grow faster? i was wondering if certain foods like for example juicing fruits/vegetables in large quanities or eating lots of raw egg yolks or nuts can help it grow faster and become thicker? do you have any suggestions? thanks alot!

Melissa,
I moved your post to this thread because this one already is about hair.
Next time you want to ask something, can you PLEASE use the search engine first?

Are you questions answered by the previous posts?
