The amount of dietary calcium that you need every day, is 300 to 800 mg.
It doesn't matter how much you consume, 300 or anything up to 800 mg, no more than about 200 mg is actually absorbed into the blood. This is because your body lowers the absorption rate when you consume more calcium, and increases the absorption rate when you consume less calcium. This is simply because your body choses to absorb no more calcium than it needs. The reason: absorbing more calcium than we need is harmful. Not just because minerals in general have pro-oxidative properties, but, regarding calcium, also because excessive calcium accelerates the aging of your bones. Check out this site for an extensive explanation plus scientific references.

The good news is that, no matter what fruits, nuts and raw animal food you eat, you will always absorb somewhere between 300 and 800 mg calcium per day. So, you don't need to worry about your calcium intake; on this diet is is always okay.
