| Author | Topic: bread, pasta, rice... which is worse? |
| Vanessa 09-27-2002 02:35 PM | Hi Wai, I know that the effect on acne of bread, pasta and rice varies from one individual to another but I was curious to know what were their effect on the system in general. Which one is worst for the body and which one is the safest, health wise? I know that potatoes would be the safest since it's a vegetable that hasn't been processed. Also, since bread is already cooked and bad, is it worse to toast it or does it not make a difference anymore? Thanks BTW, I`ve finally found 2 great fish markets in my city that sell fresh fishes from daily arrivals so that`s gonna help me greatly to stay on the diet. |
| hollywood 09-27-2002 06:08 PM | i know this question was for Wai but i had a question and a comment. my comment (well, its more like an opinion) is that rice seems to be alot better choice of munch food, for me anyway. i dont get a whole lot of luck staying clear when i "munch" on bread and pasta. this might have something to do with them both being made from wheat. but this is purely speculation. im not sure about it, yet. one munch food i like occasionally after my morning juice is organic rice flakes cereal with vanilla rice milk. this has a total of only 3 grams of dirty protein (2g for the serving of rice flakes + 1g in 8 oz of rice milk). Then, i still have another 12g of dirty protein i can have later in the day. my question is about the fresh fish markets. I live in philadelphia and have alot of them around the city. now, if they are delivered daily (like they say), does that mean they are also caught that same day? also, did you find out how much a whole salmon or tuna would run? i would definitely be interested in buying my own fish rather tham paying ripoff prices are japanese restaurants. its rediculous already, 4 pieces for 8 bucks? um no. i do still get it but i'd be much more willing to buy the fish whole and make my own to avoid them high prices. |

They do claim to have daily arrivals and when I asked for a tuna piece, it had just arrived (the fish was HUUUUGE!!!! I didn't know red tunas were so big!). I asked if they've put it in the freezer and they explained to me that if they did, the fish wouldn't taste as fresh and would be a real waste. I specified that it would be eaten raw and also asked to smell the fish and they gladly let me and it didn't smell so I know I can trust them. And when I ate it, it was definitely fresh. As for the price, red tuna is pretty expensive but if I would've bought that much sashimi at a sushi restaurant, it would've cost me twice or even more! I had enough for about four days and it cost me around 20$. I'm telling you, that fish was so big, they could've easily made at least 600$ out of it. ![]() |

One of these peptides is even 100-fold more powerful than morphine!!! quote: quote:Toasting makes it absolutely worse. You can make food worse and worse by reheating and reheating it, until it has totally turned into charcoal (the black layer on burned toast!); then there is nothing left but toxins / carcinogens. |
