Hi Wai,

I've been on your diet for about 3 months now and although there's no way in hell I will ever go back to my old diet, I'm still having some difficulty adjusting to yours. Remember those chest pains (and cramps too) I've told you about earlier? Well, I'm still getting them... After just an apple and an apricot (haven't even touched the salad yet), they`re already at it! I can`t seem to find the damn reason! [Mad] I'm really starting to get discouraged not only for that problem but also to the fact that I CAN'T take the sugar (fruits) ANYMORE. After years and years of eating hardly any fruits, I thought it was just a matter of letting my body get used to them again but instead, I'm now finding that I'm enjoying the eating ritual less and less as days go by... it's basically becoming a forced chore to eat now. That can't be good... [Frown] I felt great in the beginning of the diet. Now, I'm not even craving processed or cooked food, I'm just basically feeling down, weak and sometimes dizzy because I crave salt so badly!!! I never was a sweet-tooth type but more of a salt person. So I did some research about salt and here are some quotes I`ve gotten from a site (sorry if it`s a little long but I didn`t want to leave out some good infos for you to analyse).

quote:
It has tended to be forgotten that some salt intake is absolutely necessary; that people need salt, sodium chloride, to survive: The chemical requirements of the human body demand that the salt concentration in the blood be kept constant. If the body does not get enough salt, a hormonal mechanism compensates by reducing the excretion of salt in the urine and sweat. But it cannot reduce this output to zero. On a completely salt-free diet the body steadily loses small amounts of salt via the kidneys and sweat glands. It then attempts to adjust this by accelerating its secretion of water, so that the blood’s salt concentration can be maintained at the vital level. The result is a gradual desiccation of the body and finally death." Roy Moxham

The chemical additives which prevent the refined salt from absorbing water while it is in the box also prevent the refined salt from being properly absorbed in your body. This is why we are constantly being told that it is harmful to our health to consume too much salt. Natural salt, which has not been refined, can be consumed in any amount. As a matter of fact, it is impossible to consume too much natural unrefined salt! Why? Because the body, with its natural affinity for unrefined salt, will simply pass the excess unrefined salt out of our bodies."

Many people believe that salt is harmful to the human body. The truth is we cannot live without salt (sodium chloride). From salt the body makes hydrochloric acid which is one of the essential digestive fluids. There is not enough natural salt in our foods, so we must supplement our diet. When salt is withheld, weakness and sickness follow. Try this experiment: Mix a spoonful of salt in a glass of water and let it stand overnight. If the salt collects on the bottom of the glass, it has been processed. NATURAL SALT DISSOLVES! Salt that will not dissolve in water cannot disolve in your body. Any foreign substance that collects in the body organs and tissues will eventually result in malfunctioning of essential body processes: heart disease, arthritis, hardening of the body tissues and arteries, calcium deposits in the joints, etc. Natural organic salt (saline) will not cause calcification in your body. REAL SALT can dissolve damaging calcium deposits in the body.

Thanks [Smile]

Of course my question is: is unrefined natural sea salt ok? [Wink]

Regarding acne? no, it is not, because of its water-attracting properties.

Okay, then it is time to nail down which fruits cause it, and which don't.
fruits contain all kind of substances that a certain individual may react adversely to.
You may have an intolerancy against a specific ingredient.
So, besides apples and apricot, what other fruits?

Is that only the case with the sugary fruits???
Or with eating fruits in general???
The reason may be: the fiber.
The fresh raw fish and egg yolks don't contain any; they are very easy to digest.
So, how about drinking fresh juices instead?
(pressed juice, or from the juice extractor, not from the blender/mixer)

I think that the feeling down and weak is linked to the not liking to eat: a lack of energy.
the solution is the same: you need to replace whole fruits with fresh juices, with some sugar and oil added.

Next, I will analyze the quotes, okay?

True.
But: this diet supplies you with exactly that.
Please submit your version of the diet to the nutrient calculator.

Chloride ; Almost all fruits, but especially egg yolk, mackerel, coconut, dried dates, bananas and kiwis contain chloride.

Sodium ; Especially fish, egg yolk and oval kumquat, but also dried figs, -dates, coconut and muskmelon contain all the sodium you need.

If the body does not get enough salt...
then it will increase the salt-absorption rate. (given that it is present in the diet)
Our body can very effectively increase the absorption rate 10 fold. If our diet contains little salt, the absorption rate is high. If the diet contains much salt, the absorption rate is low.
That is why wild animals can survive without consuming extra salt.

quote:
...prevent the refined salt from being properly absorbed in your body...
The natural salts in fruits etc. are perfectly absorbed.

quote:
it is impossible to consume too much natural unrefined salt! Why? Because the body, with its natural affinity for unrefined salt, will simply pass the excess unrefined salt out of our bodies."
they forgot to mention that your body adjusts the salt absorption rate (not just the excretion rate)

"impossible to consume too much salt"???
My acne tells me differently...

quote:
There is not enough natural salt in our foods, so we must supplement our diet.
If that was true, humans could never have excisted in the first place. The humans that lived 1.6 million years ago, and which already were over 6 feet tall, only consumed natural foods...
How did we survive before we had salt mines?

They say that our natural foods don't contain enough salt, based on the salt absorption rate of those on a high-salt diet, totally ignoring the fact that our body very effectively adjusts the absorption rate to the dietary availability.

Usually a great variety of them: bananas, avodados, plums, pears, watermelon, cantalope, kiwis, peaches, pineapple, oranges, coconut, figs, raisins, grapes, mangos, and so on... I`ll stop mixing fruits and just eat one kind at a time to see which one(s) give(s) me pain.

Oh, it`s fruits in general... just the thought of them makes me cringe now!

I already do that a lot and I`m telling you Wai, anything that`s slightly sweet, I can`t handle anymore. I want to stick to your diet so badly but this not-liking to eat anymore is starting to get to me... I`m desperate to find a solution.

The solution is to eat much more fat and protein.
Fat is completely safe, but you also might have no problem at all with the extra raw protein.
So, you drastically need to increase the intake of especially raw Brazil nuts (that come in the shell), Macadamia nuts, avocadoes and coconuts, but also raw egg yolks (there is no limit) and raw fish.
Also, you can eat more salads (cucumber, tomatoes, lettuce etc.), covered in oil.

So, don't despair, there is always a solution.
Here, the solution is eating fats and protein instead of sugars.
