| etwald 08-30-2002 05:09 PM | Hi Wai, Could you please check out this URL. What do you think of this: http://beyondveg.com/billings-t/fruit-table/wild-cultiv-fruit-1a.shtml Summary: Modern fruits are much and much sweeter than wild fruits and contain much more fruit meat than wild fruits. On your diet, it's possible to get enough energy from, say 2000 grams of modern fruit. However, our predecessors should eat a lot more to get that amount of energy. Perhaps double that weight of fruit or even more. So, I am concerned about the high glucose/fructose percentage of modern fruits. Update: I am doing relatively fine. My skin is getting better and better. My dandruf has completely disappeared. I feel better and people tell me I look better also. Some people say I would have felt this way even if I hadn't eaten so much fruit. Eating less fruit, say only 70 grams of carbs a day, combined with more fat would be the optimal diet. Are you aware that on a raw-paleolithic diet, rich in saturated animal fats, it's possible to cure diabetes II and hypoglycemia and to stop using insulin for diabetes I patients ? Also take a look on this page: http://beyondveg.com/nicholson-w/angel-1984/angel-1984-1a.shtml . And this: http://beyondveg.com/cat/fruit-dreams/index.shtml Also check the site out: http://beyondveg.com/. It's a site made by ex-fruitarians and ex-veganists and ex-vegetarians. I know your diet has a *major* advantage (fat-combining) over a normal fruitarian diet, but I'm just still concerned about the high glucose/fructose intake. Don't mean to critize your diet (I see and feel it's working), but I just still have some concerns.. Perhaps you can shed some light on them.. Thanks a lot, Ed, The Netherlands |
| Wai 08-31-2002 02:04 PM | quote:I'm sorry, but I REALLY don't have time to do that, I don't even have enough time to answer all my emails. This board is my first priority, but I cannot make time to analyze other websites. I know beyondveg, by the way. there is lots of truth on the sites, but also rubbish. I think that they are right about raw veganism; you definitely need animal food. quote:You think that sugars are bad, but our body tells differently: our primal first taste preference is sweet. We are definitely not carnivores; the structure of our teeth tells us that. We are mainly frugivores, with the addition of some animal food. Without sufficient glucose in our blood, we are dead, immediately. Fructose can be converted into glucose, or utilized as energy directly. We need glucose as we need air. Glucose and fructose are NOT bad, but essential. quote:not just the fat, but also the animal protein, B12, good cholesterol, and the exclusion of raw vegetables / grains (which contain all kind of natural toxins for protection, to prevent being consumed) In the long run, your body will tell you what it 'thinks of my diet'. |
| engesongwok 04-08-2003 11:39 PM | Try growing some wild fruit or berries in your yard, or in a pot. I collected some wild strawberry plants from a walk through a neighborhood were I work. I suppose I should have asked for a plant, but I don't feel bad, as it was a runner which would have been thinned out, or stomped on. (can't grow through concrete) This organization could provide you with information about a variety of fruits which are wild, or only recently domesticated...or at least have a different nutrient profile. You can't go wrong in checking it out! http://www.crfg.org/ |
