| Wai 08-06-2002 01:09 PM | In response to JustMarvin's remark in a different thread:quote:Our own defense system regulates the growth of over 400 known different bacteria in our colon. These bacteria are essential in many ways; producing vitamins, fighting hostile bacteria etc. etc. Candida overgrowth can happen if the system that regulates the growth of all bacteria, is weakened by the intake of antibiotics. Yes, candida needs energy to grow, like all bacteria do, but this energy is not the cause of bacteria overgrowth, like food is not the cause of obesity. (overeating is) Consuming lots of sugars does not cause Candida overgrowth, simply because our defense system regulates the growth of all bacteria; it maintains the right balance, unless you weaken it by the intake of antibiotics. |
| Julian 09-09-2002 12:39 PM | Hello Wai, itīs very nice to salute you again, now in the board. As I wrote before, I was doing the fruit diet and was very well so far, till I had a severe overgrowth of Candida Albicans, due a high intake of antibiotics (ciproxine) and maybe some other conditions. After this I had a lot of bad sympthoms for months, but still in the diet. Once I knew that my problem was candidiasis, Dr. told me that I most stopped all the intake of any kind of sugars, fruits, bread, etc. I didnīt believe that and followed with the diet but the sympthoms continued indefinetelly, If I ate fruit or juices there was inmediately cramps and diarrhea, then I decided to try the other diet because I was really bad. The fact is that two or three days after I started the anticandida diet, all my problem began to disappear, diarrhea, cramps, etc. Today, after three months with the new diet I feel very well, but I really donīt know what to do, because I believe in your diet, and like it so much, but I am very afraid to get sick again, Dr. told me that I most wait at least 6 months for eating fruits again and just one at a time. Iīm having some antifungals (Caprilic acid, olive leaf extract, etc.) and my basically diet consists in fats, (mostly olive oil), a lot of vegetables, salads, raw salmon, chicken and some beef once in a while. You told me before that the fruit diet were safe to the candida condition, but it wasnīt for me, do you believe that there is any chance that doesnīt work the same for all people? I wonder if you know anyone doing the diet having Candidiasis and how is she or he doing. Please receive my very best regards and congratulations for this great board, you are a very special woman. Good luck, Julian |
| Wai 09-10-2002 10:55 AM | quote:The diet is totally safe in the sense that it certainly does not cause candida overgrowth. Candida is caused by antibiotics (or something else that strongly weakens your defense). Yes, candida needs sugars to grow, and without the sugars, it is much easier to fight it. You also could have maintained my diet without eating the high-sugar fruits, and that is also what you can do now. You can replace all the sugar fruits with high-fat and high-protein raw foods. I guess you eat the beef and chicken cooked, right? (non-raw), well, you can easily replace that with raw egg yolks or raw fish... quote:Of course!!! It is 100% sure that the diet works very differently for different people. We simply all have different hormone fluctuations, different susceptibility of receptors (for hormones and neurotransmitters), different strength of the defense system etc. etc. So, there will be no 2 persons in who the diet works exactly the same. quote:I'm sorry, but, besides you, I don't know anyone with candida overgrowth... |
| julian farah 09-12-2002 08:54 AM | Iīm sure that the diet is not a cause to get candida overgrowth, I didnīt want to mean that. Before I tried your diet I was in "fit for life" diet for many years, eating a lot of fruits too and never had a problem, neither with your diet, until I suffer candidiasis for other multiple and mentioned causes. Iīm going to do again the diet with your new recomendations, thank you, and I hope will be ready to eat a lots of fruits again in a few months, I love fruit over any other meal. By the way, I was reading some member topics about the "advantages" of low carb diets and want to tell something about, I am now in a very low carb diet, and my blood tests are as follow: my sugar level (While doing low carb diet)are higher in a 20% , Triglecerides higher in a 35%, HDL (Good chollesterol) lower in a 15% and LDL (Bad chollesterol) Higher in a 30 percent, itīs incredible!! I would never believed that. I know a lot of people that lost a lot of weight with diets like "Atkins" , but now Iīm curious about their really health situation besides the weight. Julian |
| julian farah 09-14-2002 12:58 PM | (The comparison between the blood tests is currently with the low carb-low fat diet and before while doing the fruit diet) Julian |
| Simontreally 05-29-2003 04:47 PM | OH MY GOD I am taking anti-biotics - what are the symtoms of this - will following a fruit diet, and taking antibiotics cause candida - i have been feeling tired - Paranoid! |
| RRM 05-30-2003 07:22 AM | quote:You can only get to know whether you have candida, by seeing a Dr, and getting properly examined. There is a small risk that you have candida, and a reason to see a Dr, if a combination of the following symptoms apply to you: quote: quote:Taking antibiotics is all that is needed to cause candida. Sugars then supply the candida with the energy that it needs to grow. quote:LOTS of things can make you feel tired. Are you sure you are consuming enough energy constantly? quote:You shouldn't. Starting to panic is never a smart thing. You have no reason to panic anyway. RRM |
