Greetings Wai,

I am confused about the whole sodium intake thing. You say that cellulite is not really affected by salt because its only temporary. But does salt consumption keep your body from releasing the dirty protiens causing cellulite?

Its just that I eat a little celtic sea salt a day, way less than a 1000 mg. I beleive you mentioned in your book that it is ok to add a little salt to an avocado or something. I feel kinda wierd sometimes when I don't have enough sodium, so I wanted to eat a little each day, but then I didn't want to stop my body from eliminating cellulite.
What are your thoughts on this?

Since cellulite is not caused by salt, then not eating dirty protien should get rid of the cellulite....plus eating salt would only temporarily hold water in the skin. SO even if you did eat salt and there was no dirty protein in the skin, then the salt would only hold water in for a short time. WOuld this mean that the cellulite you have (just from salt) could be eliminated in a just a few days..if no dirty protien was involved?

any information would be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot [Smile]

Oh I also wanted to add that my salt consumption HAS decreased since I started this diet.
I also notice that when I don't eat any salt for a couple of days...I start to feel anxiety, and tiredness. But if I eat a tiny amount of salt each day with a meal, then I tend to eat less throughout the day and don't have cravings to eat all the time.

no

its not that you don't have enough sodium at your disposal; it is just that you are not customised to such a low sodium intake, which is only temporary
If only you persevere, that 'weird' feeling will go away

temporarily causing cellulite
but if this happens regularly, you may have cellulite regularly

yes

that is because the body needs more time to adjust to the lower salt intake
You need to persevere regarding the low salt intake, and then you will feel that your salt addiction (which is what your 'symptoms' indicate) will go away
Salt = addictive, and your body needs more time (to adjust to the lower sodium intake)

HI Wai, I kinda have a similar experience. It seems that after a week or so of eating no salt added, my digestion feels sluggish, and I notice my heart seems to beat really hard, not fast, but hard. I don't know if salt has anything to do with this but it seems to go away when I eat a little bit a salt once a day.
But I have never been a big salt eater for the last couple of years, so I am NOT used to eating a lot of it. Less than 500 mg of added salt a day.

I also notice that I feel dehydrated when I eat no added salt, like water goes right through me and my lower back hurts sometimes (maybe kidneys).
But I have gone maybe 1 or 2 weeks with no added salt but eventually I end up feeling this way.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think it has to do with sodium, or maybe something else?

Thank you so much

i think it is the sodium
sodium very directly influences lots of bodyfunctions and your state of mind
so, it may be physical without being essential, if you know what i mean; just as the effects of beta-carbolines are both physical and non-essential
in other words; even if you don't need the extra salt, your body may tell you otherwise
if your skin doesn't react adversely to it, there is nothing wrong with the extra salt...
