| Giedre 01-21-2003 03:11 PM | Hello Wai, I would like to try your diet for fat loss and cellulite elimination, but I have some doubts about it. I am not overweight but have some extra fat on my waistline and hips. It is a fact that if a person wants to lose weight, one has to consume an appropriate amount of calories. I guess for me it would be about 2000 cals a day. The problem is that, according to my countings, with your diet I would consume at least 3000 cals a day (with all the fats required and chocolate). Wouldn't that result in a weight gain? Thank you for a fascinating web page. |
| Wai 01-22-2003 02:37 PM | quote:How can you decide that that you will daily eat food containing 3000 kcal? Your body wants to ingest the energy that it needs directly. This is subject to a hormones and neurotransmitters-controlled natural system. People become obese, because their body is out of contact with this natural energy regulation system, due to beta-carbolines and opioid peptides that impair this system and that increase your appetite regardless of your energy requirements. With this diet, you will not ingest beta-carbolines and opioid peptides, and thus, that energy regulation system will take over again, making you eat the food that you need, and nothing more, and will gradually make you lose your overweight. So, who says that you will eat food containing 3000 kcal? You will eat the food that you need, and nothing more, NATURALLY. |
| Giedre 01-22-2003 02:58 PM | Hi Wai, thank for your answer. I will try to follow your diet and forget all the calorie counting whicth i'm so used to. Maybe the other members could comment here? I would also like to ask if I can eat raw freezed fish and mix banana in a blender if i have no acne but want to get rid of cellulite. |
| Wai 01-22-2003 03:00 PM | quote:yes, you can |
| Giedre 01-24-2003 02:59 PM | One more question: what about dried fruits, that were not sun - dried than? Can they cause cellulite? And the fish that has been freezed before consuming, do I have to consider it a munch food and count its protein (blended banana as well)? Sorry if it seems I'm asking too much, but you say success is in details... ![]() |
| Wai 01-27-2003 01:00 PM | quote:naaa; only if you're EXTREMELY susceptible to that 'dirty' protein, and regarding cellulite that is hardly possible quote:no, regarding cellulite, you don't have to consider those as munch foods quote: EXACTLY!!! so, no apologies... |
| Giedre 01-28-2003 03:16 PM | Cool! I was especially happy to hear that I can eat raw fish without a long investigation weather the fish was frozen or not... and don't count it as a munch food. That makes it much easier to consume enough protein daily. I am on my fourth day now and I have lost about 1 - 1,5 kg already, my constipation seems to be disappearing, but there is one bad thing: I feel very week and depressed all the time. Maybe I eat to little, although my daily calorie intake varies from 1800 to 2200 and I guess that is exactly as much as I need, maybe even to much. Wai, could you advice something here? Because this weekness and a light headache isn't a good motivation to continue the diet... even known that that I am satisfied with this eating regimen in all the other ways. |
| Wai 01-29-2003 03:09 PM | quote:yes, you eat too little. with this diet it is VERY easy to eat too little, but to be able to lose weight in a health way, and lastingly, you need to do it right, and that is by making sure not to eat too little. You will lose the overweight anyway, so don't worry about consuming more calories. You should NOT limit yourself to a few meals a day, because the energy from those meals simply doesn't last long enough. So, you really need to eat much more often. you don't need to eat large meals, but you do need to eat often, this to ensure that your blood sugar level dpoesn't drop, because that exactly is what is making you depressed (see http://www.13.waisays.com ) Also, you need to make sure to consume enough fat with EVERY meal... |
| Giedre 01-29-2003 04:46 PM | Wai, thank you so much for the replies, they really help to stay on track However, today I had a rather bad experience. Can not explain how, but I did overeat on fruits... And felt very lazy, full and gassy afterwards. Actually I even tried to throw up (unsuccessfully) - couldn't stand that feeling of being so "stuffed".. I think I should explain all in details: I ate about 200 grams of dried fruits (pineapple, figues, apricots), 1,5 banana, 1 large apple, 1 small avocado and 4 teaspoons of olive oil. I ate really fast, not even chewing much and at the end I felt so full that I coudn't force myself to eat a handful of nuts for additional fat. This doesn't sound much right now, but the feeling of beeing uncomfortably full lasted for six hours - I coudn't put anything into my mouth. That is especially strange, because I am used to deal with big amounts of food (suffered from eating disorders since 14 years old..surprise ).Now when I look back I have a suspicion that the problem was in the dried fruits - could it be that my sensitive intestine found it hard to deal with all the fiber they provide? Or maybe I mixed fruits that don't combine together? How do you think? By the way, today I tried to eat a whole egg yolk and found it extremely delicious.. You know, if it had been any other diet I would have quitted right away after this inconvenience with fruits and depression, but something deep inside tells me that this is the right way to go. Anyway, I promised myself I would give it at least a week and then see and I will do it. One more good thing is that I find it really delicious and stopped craving "normal" food, while on any other eating regimen all of my thoughts were occupied with sweets and junk food. That is a great release for someone who knows how sad bulimic - anorexic reality can be. Thank you for everything. |
| Wai 01-30-2003 11:59 AM | quote:Ah, so your body is putting this diet to a test! That is great; now it knows it doesn't feel good to overeat on fruits! (too much water, too much fiber) You can safely keep on this diet this way without restricting yourself, it is your body that will automatically 'adjust its behavior' to this diet. Because of your history, your body needs this kind of experiences to get used to eating normal, without having to be watched over (by yourself). Go on, and your problem will automatically be solved. quote:yes, instinctively, your body feels that it is right not to absorb those toxins anymore. quote:that is great, yes, PLEASE give it some time... quote:and to maintain that feeling, you need to keep on giving your body what it needs (including the egg yolks!), without restricting the amount of calories... Please keep us updated here, okay? |
| Giedre 01-30-2003 04:42 PM | Hi Wai, I wrote you a long post today but somehow it got lost, because I can't find it on the board. Maybe something with my computer, at least I think so. Anyway, what I wrote was that I still keep on eating a bit to much (feeling stuffed all the time), but do not experience such binges as I mentioned earlier. I am not gaining weight nor losing it, my stomach is still bloated as always due to an endless constipation and that makes it hard to continue the diet psychologically. Let me explain: I know that if I went on a very low calorie diet I would start losing weight immediately, although this would have devastating results. So what I usually do is making a compromise with myself to quit your diet tommorow ("just one more day"..), but in the evening I decide it is worth to give it one more try. The problem is that I am very anxious to get the results as soon as possible. I really hope this will be the last regimen I try. Sometimes I even fall asleep repeating myself "Trust her knowlegde" (this is about you Wai). It really helps to see that you have a reasonable answer to every question. One of the things I've understood while being on this diet is that my unexplained urge I used to have to eat something sweet was caused by a lack of simple sugars in my diet. Today I have a big piece of delicious fruit cake in my fridge and it is amazing not to feel almost any temptation to eat it. Actually I did have some munch foods today, but it was just candies to keep my energy levels up and they didn't taste as good as dried fruits do (getting addicted to these ).I also find it impossible to make any agreements with myself like "today i'll drink only juices" or "I will not have any dried fruits" and even stopped counting calories (the number is ussualy horrifying and I don't even remember everything I eat). I just try not to think of it, but as I said it is not easy. Hope my long posts doesn't bother you Wai. Maybe someone else will benefit from them in the future. Hope so.. |
| Giedre 01-30-2003 06:30 PM | Wai, could you please give some advice on how to get rid of a bloated stomach? That is so upsetting.. Maybe I should really avoid everything that contains more fiber (like dried fruits and apples) for a while? Sometimes my stomach gets so big that I can not fit into my clothes and have to cancel meetings with my friends...can't stand it anymore ![]() |
