AuthorTopic: Walking intensity, fat intake...

I asked this at another board but it is more relevant here.
What kind of intensity is needed when one is walking for weight loss? Should I go by the 60% max heart rate? Should I be able to carry on a conversation? An easy stroll?
And that raw fat intake from good sources will not make you fat? How many calories should one be consuming on this lifestyle, or do calories not matter?
And Wai, are there any other pictures of you out there? I've seen the face shot but I wouldn't mind seeing you as a whole (I think you mentioned you were a model so maybe you know where some of your work is?)
Thanks!

Just plain walking. You should be able to carry on a conversation. You don't need to strive for a certain heart rate; just keep on walking.

Fat does not make you fat. Calories do not make you fat. what makes you fat, is overeating, regardless of the source of energy (fat, carbs, protein, alcohol).
Naturally, your body does not want to overeat if you never have been in a situation of food scarsity. Naturally, your appetite is gone when you have ingested the required energy.
Appetite enhancers in cooked foods (beta-carbolines) and wheat- and dairy-products (opioid peptides), however, make you overeat.

Naturally, different hormones and neurotransmitters regulate your weight, making sure you weigh the optimum weight (to be able to climb in trees or run from danger very effectively). And these appetite regulators are impaired by these same appetite enhancers: beta-carbolines and opioid peptides.

All you need to do is to eliminate these impairing substances from your diet.
You will experience that you don't feel like overeating anymore, automatically.
You don't need to count calories.
All you need to do is to stick to the diet, and learn to listen to your body. Learn to listen to how it signals when you are hungry, and when you are not. How it tells you that it is low in energy, and when not.
If you stick to the diet, you will lose weight effortlessly.

I was already very reluctant to post that picture. (I chose this one since it is a rather incognito pic)
I feel that it is not about me, but about the diet. I'm not important in this matter. What is important, is how the diet can help you.
I know, Americans always want to know the person behind it (are you American?), but I feel that is unecessary and beyond my point. I want people to understand what I'm saying, instead of looking at my face, or body.
I hope you understand.

That's good that it's lower in intensity. I had a walking program all summer but one day I guess I pushed myself too hard (very fast, long strides) and I swear I felt my kneecaps slide down out of place. It was a weird feeling; no pain however. I just get very paranoid sometimes with how far I can push myself and am glad that I can walk a bit easier without doing something to my knees like that.

Totally understand why you want the facts to speak for themselves. However, I just get a kick out of some diet gurus who are still overweight with bad skin and would rather believe in someone who has a plan that works. Likewise with doctors who have had multiple surgeries/health problems themselves.
Yes I am American but it's not something I'm particularly proud of right now.
Thank you so much again for your time and knowledge.

Oh, and I'm glad to hear that you can place trust in your body if it can trust you to put the right sources of energy in it. I cannot believe that I have had no cravings except for the foods allowed (well, those nut butters are awfully tempting- I emailed one of the companies that makes raw almond butter with raw almonds and I'm hoping for a good reply).

Ouch!
Please take it easy. Don't push it; plain walking is perfectly fine. (it is even better than speed walking!)

he, he [Smile] , know what you mean!
Here's a dietician that is much on TV, and she has a bad skin and looks unhealthy.
But, hey, pics can lie.
Maybe it is hard to believe, but I still wear the same size as when I was 16 (I'm 39 now, but nobody believes me when I tell them so, until I show them my identity card). My sizes: 92 cm breasts, 58 cm waist, 89 cm hips. I'm 180 cm tall (6 feet) and weigh 58 kg (129 pounds).
Your body wount lie... (time will prove it to you)

I would be REALLY surprised if they use nuts that they first shell by hand...

and indeed, as Chris10astra has found out (5th post), the nut butter is not really raw...
