| Chris10astra 09-03-2002 09:57 PM | I have to walk everyday to and from class (approx 10 min each way) that usually ends up being 40 min. I work out with basic compound free weight exercises 3-4x week for 20-30 min and stretch daily, if possible. I can probably fit in more walking, but it would be on a treadmill as that is most convenient with a student's schedule. Is that all right? I love the sculpting control one has with weights but I don't want to sabotage any possible weight loss. Btw, today was my first day and it felt *great.* I am going to try to pick up some Brazil nuts tomorrow. |

Walking is the most effective exercise to utilize bodyfat. quote:Yes, the weights make it possible for you to determine where you need some extra muscle; sculpturing your body. They don't help you to lose weight, because they mainly increase the utilization of glucose / glycogen. But that is totally okay, because with this diet you will gradually lose all your overweight anyway. All that you need to do, is to maintain this diet. The walking speeds up the loss of bodyfat, and the weight exercises don't sabotage it. |

| Wai 03-28-2003 09:11 AM | a puffy belly is generally caused by locally stored fat and filled bowels any exercise will only strengthen the muscles below your fat, and strengthening them makes them grow bigger, not affecting the fat on top, and thus only making you sturdier / bigger losing weight and exercises are 2 different things all muscle-strengthening exercises make you sturdier to lose weight fast, you don't need to exercise, buyt long walks outside (and maintaining the diet) |
