| tres 08-27-2002 04:17 PM | Hello there, This might make you feel better, I have been eating mangoes & bananas every day for almost 2 months now & have not gained any weight. Have banana, avocado & apple for breakfast and a banana, mango & peach drink for a shake. But Wai will be able to answer you better. Good luck Helanie |
| Wai 08-29-2002 08:54 AM | quote:No. All chemicals with sedative properties are constipating, such as beta-carbolines (in cooked foods) and opioid peptides (in wheat- and diary-products) Mangoes and bananas don't contain any constipating ingredients. (sugars and fibers are stimulating (not sedative) substances) quote:No. those same substances that are sedative (beta-carbolines and opioid peptides) are also appetite enhancers, which make you overeat. That is why you can easily overeat on cooked foods, but not on fruits. Your stomach already tells you that you are full after the first (or second) banana, and you will only continue to eat more after a little while. Overweight is not caused by eating sugars (mangoes, bananas) or fat. Overweight is caused by overeating whatever food. If you ingest too much energy, from whatever source; protein, alcohol, sugars or fat, then you gain weight. So, that what makes you overeat, is that what causes overweight. Appetite enhancers, such as originate due to the cooking, and such as being added to food products 'to enhance their taste', is what is causing overweight. |
