| Roy 03-16-2003 02:34 PM | I lost had to get a splenectomy because of an accident. I didn't have acne before i lost my spleen. I was 9 then, and now im 15, and i have acne. Im worried that not having a spleen may be the cause of my acne. I also dont want to get the vaccine there telling me to take, because i hear that vaccines are dangerous. Im afraid that my body wont be able to fight of pnemonia if i ever get it. Im a fruitarian, and i still have pimples, but it could be because of the popcorn i eat, and the nuts that i bought already shelled. So i will try this diet out. But can use coconuts, nuts, or avacodo only to balence out my sugar, because i dont like olive oil, or salad. Also, i dont like to mix foods. help me please wei, do you know if my body can still fight of these things without a spleen? Also, if i eat non-sugary fruits like zuccini alot, i wouldnt need to balence that out with sugar would I? Can't wait to hear from you Wei, thanks... |
| Wai 03-20-2003 12:04 PM | Hi roy, quote:no, it isn't almost all acne patients at some point think: "Why me?", "why not the other kids around me?", and start looking for reasons Since having no spleen distincts you from others, you logically think that this may have something to do with you also being different regarding the acne, but having no spleen is not the cause. Most acne patients first got acne in their puberty; at your age The cause: the increase in the levels of hormones that stimulate the production of sebum (which causes acne when it coincides with water retention). the spleen has nothing to do with this. the major purpose of the spleen is the final maturation of B and T cells, which play play a major role in your immune system Some reason that acne is the result of over-growth of propioni bacteria, but that is just the result of the combination of the accumulation of sebum and the increased water pressure, optimizing the conditions for growth of these bacteria. A less powerful immune system is certainly not the cause of acne. quote:exactly; your defense system needs to strengthen 'protecting' it will only weaken it quote:absolutely... quote:you don't need the salad, but nothing takin oil, makes maintaining this diet much harder Do you eat fresh raw animal food? (that would certainly help you to boost your immune system) quote:you certainly don't need to what made you think so? quote:yes, in that case other organs take over; most functions are not just limited to one organ only (the maturation of T and B cells can also take place outside the spleen for example) quote:zuccini is not a fruit; you cannot eat it raw; it needs to be cooked to digest it well, and thus it is excluded from this diet zuchini can even cause acne when consumed raw, because it impairs your digestion (which results in the incomplete digestion of proteins) btw, on this diet, you definitely need the carbs (AND the fat) to ingest sufficient energy... |
| Roy 03-23-2003 03:41 AM | Wow, i did'nt know zuccini could impair digestion! Its so close to the cucumber so i just assumed it was safe. I LOVE a good ripe zuccini, compared to the bland taste of a cucumber! How odd that the GOOD tasting one is BAD for digestion. But if IS botanically a fruit right? Are you sure zuccini does this! Its practically the same as cucumber... This could be why the diet did'nt work. I WAS eating zuccini. I Should start over again. And im going to address internal clensing. I do suspect my acne is hormonal because its so darn bad, and i eat mostly raw food, except for steamed dates and factory shelled nuts. Its odd that you don't talk about internal clensing in the free acne book, such as liver clensing and parasites. Dont you think these could be the culprates to many peoples acne? After years of eating bad foods, i would suspect that many people with acne have very toxic livers, and even have gullstones! |
| engesongwok 03-24-2003 06:51 PM | Taste preferences are interesting. I personally prefer cucumbers over the taste of zuccuni. I have noticed that my stomach tends to not feel very good if I eat zuccuni raw, something I haven't done in a long time. I think botanically it is a fruit. I think the issue is how its used, and if it needs cooking. Every fruit is not human food, nor should every fruit be eaten raw. If it requires cooking or a lot of processing, I would wonder if it really is meant to be eaten. Bitter melon is a fruit which requires cooking and soaking in brine water before being eaten. http://www.rain-tree.com/bitmelon.htm I have tried it, and it doesn't taste good to me at all. It has some reported medical uses, but it tastes toxic to me. |
| Wai 03-28-2003 08:55 AM | zuchini is a vegetable fruit, just as cucumber and tomatoes, as well as squash, pumpkin, asparagus and french beans Some can very well be digested properly in their raw form (tomatoes, cucumber), while the rest is not quote:steamed dates and factory shelled nuts is all you need to have acne... Why don't you maintain the 100% strict diet for 2 weeks; it is the only way to make sure whether the diet works for you, or not... |
