Is exercising and sweating(really hard) somehow reduce acne in your face?..pls answer...

Cause I have been in the diet for quite sometime now and I somehow identified the acne-causing food for me but I had this hobby of "mountain climbing" once every 6 weeks and I tend to eat food that I know will cause me acne(I bring any food for energy I need) but since I really sweat a lot as if I plunge myself into a water, I noticed that my face does not react to much to the food I eat during the period of 4-5 days.

Is this because I tend to sweat a lot and it clean my pores in my body and face?

Is this because even if I eat acne causing food but my skin expelled it out through sweating?

And also I notice when eating the same acne causing food and not doing or perming any sweating activities my face react too much of in this acne causing food...I really breakout.?

Please answer my question because if this theoryis true that sweating somehow reduce the acne ...I will add a daily exercise routine so I can clean the pores in my face...

Thanks hoping u can anwer BACK

There are two aspects about sweating, one (1)negative and one (2) positive.

(1) The negative one is that you are physically active to sweat, and if your digestive system is still digesting food, the increased level of physical active distracts more blood from the digestive system to the muscles, and thus the food remainders in the digestive tract are less well digested. Partly undecomposed protein may remain, and be absorbed, which may cause acne.
But, that can be prevented by resting long enough after having consume proteinous foods.

(2) The positive part, in theory, is that with the sweating, also water-attracting substances are removed, which may include some 'dirty' protein... (and thus lessen the effects of bad foods)

You can only discover what the dominant factor is in you, by doing some well controlled experiments.
During two weeks you need to eat exactly the same foods. One week you are physically very active daily, and the next week you are not physically active at all.
Please keep us all posted!!!

I also wonder if your observations are a result of the increased blood flow to the surface of the skin. Could this, instead of sweat, account for some of the exercise-acne connection?

hmmm, seems logical to me, because it is indeed true that the more blood goes trough your skin (to 'transport heat to the surface of the skin'), the more 'dirty' protein and salt can be re-uptaken from the true skin.

Thanks Wai, I'll try that experiments and I'll keep you informed, by the way Im still on the process of having excerise daily or every other day and I notice that during those days when I eat food that I know will cause me some acne somehow diminshes or controlled may be because of sweating a lot (that's the only thing I add to my daily regime)...Now I can enjoy eating chicken with worrying of having acne cyst after a 24 hrs of consuming it....Im observe my skin keenly on how it will react on some food I take since Im in the process of identifying those bad food causing acne for me...But I think you are right about the acne theory you have mentioned...I try to continue this routine....eat health food( mostly uncooked) fruit egg(raw) etc and have an exercise every other day.......

One question again....I also notice that I controlled my acne by washing may face with (cucumber extract) in a downward motion..... whenever I try to reverse it an acne will surely appear...its been 3 weeks that I dont have acne since I started washing may face downward motion ....I had no idea why...then i try to wash my face in both downward and upward motion for 3 days and guess what I have 4 acne after 3 hours but not large one's (acne with yellow thing on it).....(During this weeks Im on a very strict diet)..

Please advise any explanations why..?

Thanks

Facial hair grows from follicles in which also the sebum canals end.
These facial hairs grow downwards. Thus, if you wash your face upwards, you will push the hairs into the follicles, which can cause a small inflammation.
so, yes, washing your face downwards is the only proper way.

PS, I will copy this post of yours to the skincare forum.

hmm...i never knew that downward washing was good. i wash like that, but i heard that washing downward can pull down on ur skin and cause it to age faster??? [Confused] i dunno. but ima keep washin my face downwards. heh

Only if you apply way too much pressure (washing downward or upward), rubbing of layers of cells.

Hello all,

sweating and its relationship to causing/preventing acne is something I am interested in as well. I am just beginning to (seriuosly) experiment with this. I am starting to jog every other day and just starting the restrictive acne free diet recommended by wai.
I hope that after practicing the diet for a couple weeks I will clear up, then Ill start adding things in and see if jogging/not jogging affects acne production. You guys already articulated this theory so I guess this is redundant, but just so yall know Im trying it too.

I am still trying to shed around 6-8 pounds...so I have been walking 4km around 3 times a week.

I am concerned about whether or not to increase my pace, which means I will sweat more.

As such, is sweating good or bad for acne? Especially when my back is suspcetible to acne?

Thank you.....any one can share on their experiences?
