| mengyao 01-06-2003 07:07 PM | i understand that water retention and high sebum production causes acne. water retention does so because it pinches off the sebum canals. but wait, arent there OTHER things that can pinch off sebum canals? what about not washing off make up, using certain oils, etc? some make up can block your pores, and in a way, that acts like pinching off your sebum canals right? if so, what is a good way to get off make up completely in order to prevent blockage of the skin pores? rose water definantly is NOT enough. i know oils can remove make up, but i am very sensitive to using oils of any kind. thanx for any advice! |

Dirt / make up on the way out of the sebum canals is not likely to block the canals to such an extend that it actually prevents the sebum from getting out, because the weight is not great enough. Only extremely heavy dirt, or very miniscule dirt particles that penetrate into the sebum canals may cause acne (which they used to call 'mineworkers-acne') Most acne patients are not sensitive to polution from the outside. Though some may adversely react to oil, but that usually results in small, grainy bumps, and not in normal acne. quote:i never advised to use rosewater to get off make up. For that, I advice a make up remover. The rosewater is advised to use instead of soap, to cleanse your face. |
