The problem with any birth control pills is that they may cause your acne, while the same pill may eliminate acne in somebody else...
So, it may be the case that the BCP still cause some acne in you (or not at all!!!), so your results are uncertain.
But even if the BCP would cause acne in you, then the diet would still work to some extend.

Did you have acne before you started taking the BCP?
And if you got ace after you were on BCP, how long after?
Did you ever go off the BCP?

Hi
I have been on ortho tri cyclin for about a month now. i need it in my system because it looks like i am going to start accutane this week. i want to go on your diet to hopefully avoid the "initial breakout" on accutane.

what do you think?

hey 20 with acne, you don't need to take accutane, fisrt try the medication spironolactone, its an ant-androgen and it deals with the root of the problem; the male hormone androgen, HEAPS of women have gotten clear off this. Also don't go on the birthcontrol pill othrotricyclen because this pill makes acne worse on women, even though it's meant to do the opposite. Desogen is the bcp that makes most women's acne go away. I tried spirononlactone and it cleared me up 100% but unfortunetly I was allergic to it, so now I'm on this diet as a last resort

ortho tri cyclin can very well have positive effects on your acne, but it can also worsen it, just as any hormonal pill can.
It is just too individually different, what works for one is acne causing in others.
The same goes for spironolactone ;it may work for justagirl84 and not for others.

My diet probably cannot prevent the initial break out caused by roaccutane... [Frown]
That is why it is advised not to use accutane while on the diet; it may eliminate the results of my diet.

hi, justagirl84
i tried to send you a message before but somehow i pressed the wrong button so you might get a redundant email, sorry about that.
anyway, i would like to know about your experience on the spironolactone.
first, how was you acne condition before you start using the anti androgen? how well and how long before it takes effect? also, how much were you taking a day? and, what kind of allergic reaction did you get that made you stopped? thanks a lot for sharing the info. [Wink]
