| lyn 08-29-2002 12:00 PM | Wai, when i was pregnant(both times) my face completely cleared up after about the 3rd or 4th month into the pregnancies.do you think that this might be evidence that my acne struggles could be from hormones?... i keep failing to make it the whole 2 weeks on the diet so i've yet to find out if this diet works for me for acne.i end up eating a little bit of rice or rice bread. i know that the diet makes my body feel better and i sleep much better when i'm on it.i'm gonna go 2 weeks, even if it kills me (figure of speech of course) thanks |
| Wai 08-29-2002 12:30 PM | quote:It is not evidence, but half an indication. Let me explain: Hormones can be totally responsible for causing acne, but can also be 'only' half the cause: Acne is caused by the combination of 2 factors: 1. A high sebum production 2. Retaining water, pinching off sebum canals If one of these 2 is absent, you don't have acne. 1 can be caused by elevated hormone levels, or other factors not determined by hormones. 2 can also be caused by hormones, and/or by the food that you eat. So, if your hormones cause 1 and food causes 2, then the sample diet can eliminate your acne. But if both 1 and 2 are caused by your hormones, the diet will not sufficiently work for you. |
