If you think testosterone is elevated; see and doctor and get yourself tested, because yes, elevated testosterone levels can indeed cause acne. quote:Don't even think about!!! FIRST you need to have your testosterone levels checked. THEN you can start getting informed about what is possible, and what is healthy. Messing with your hormones is a very serious matter, and can have DEVASTATING effects. quote:They may, because they influence your water metabolism. quote:Take a look at some alcoholics, and you will see that they are all swollen up; alcohol use does NOT have an anti water retaining effect. (BTW: people taking diuretics generally are swollen up too; maybe you know someone who takes them?) quote: They all make you retain more water, but at least wine contains the least 'dirty' protein. Also, all alcohol increases your cravings for bad foods, which makes it harder to maintain the diet. |
| rawbebe 01-24-2003 03:37 AM | I testify: Absolutely alcohol increasing you cravings for cooked foods! I've been raw for months now, but have been a wine connisseur for years and was afraid I could not give up wine, but: 1. Having been raw for awhile, the alcohol in wine hit my bloodstream VERY quickly, and I become very inebriated after only 1/4 cup or less of wine. 2. My cravings for cooked food became uncontrollable and I inevitably rushed out and ate cooked food immediately. 3. I can simply tell my body is not happy with alcohol consumption... ...to the point where my once strong cravings for wine have completely ceased because I'm now classically trained to abhor the bad feelings it makes in my body. BUT, if you do like wine, there are raw recipes for wine available, among raw foodists in particular. I haven't made them yet, but even buying non-alocoholic wine is preferrable. But who knows how it compares to an aged Bordeaux? C'est le vie. |
