if you say your skin is dry, a moisturizer would only add dryness in the long run. stay away from them. the idea is to move away from using products.. cucumber juice, rosewater, walnut oil, and a mask once in a while would be the extent of it..

indeed, moisturizers only make it worse eventually
oil is the best 'moisturizer' (it prevents dehydration)

Hi Wai,
I am trying to get rid of cellulite and sometimes the skin on my legs is very dry (like after showering), so I use sweet almond oil in the shower and rinse it off a little. Is this okay or is it better to use bodylotion or some other kind of oil?
I read the thread about the oil for facial skincare, but I am not sure if that applies to the rest of the body as well...)

Thanks!
Wai

you shouldnt rinse if off!
oil is great for your body
just give your skin some time to absorb it before putting on your clothes
oil is better than lotion

Wai hi.
You wrote that Almond Oil contains 39.3% vitamin E. Which accelerates the shedding of the skin and therfore the aging of the skin.
Now you say "this oil is great for you body..." are there diferent rules after all for the body versus the face??

(It seems simple at first but then there are so many smaller details to figure out in this diet... hhff) [Smile]

Gavriel,
yes, you are right, i should have read her question more carefully (i was actually talking about oil in general); low vitamin E oils are much better; please check out this thread: link

but regarding your body you dont need to be as strict as regarding your face; your face is much more sensitive to the effects of vitamin E

yes
your skin 'moisturizes' itself; meaning that it will direct water to the skin when needed.
all you need to do, is to prevent dehydration, and this can be achieved by applying a few drops of oil to the skin

products that claim to 'moisturize' the skin, make your skin retain more water by making your skin absorb water-attracting molecules from that product into the skin. these molecules end up in the true skin, where they attract water from the outer skin, which, in fact, causes dehydration of the outer skin eventually (once they have entered the true skin) and also amy cause acne (due to pinching off of the sebum canals in the true skin)
