| Author | Topic: Vaseline petroleum jelly for dry areas? |
| Cheryl2002 04-18-2003 02:50 AM | Dear Wai & all, how about Vaseline 100% petroluem jelly? Can I use it for dry areas like legs and neck and lips? Thank you! |
| Wai 04-18-2003 03:11 PM | yes! but be aware that, for some, it may have clogging effects in areas where there are many sebum excreting pores (areas where you can get acne) |
| Cheryl2002 04-18-2003 11:22 PM | GREAT ! Thanks Wai! Mmm....clogging...and it claims to be non-comedogenic! hee... I am not going to use it anywhere on my face apart from my lips though. I will stick to my sesame oil. Just that I do not like to put the same oil on my legs etc .....so very happy that I can use vaseline instead.Thank you! |
| Wai 04-25-2003 05:26 AM | i didn't say that it clogs your pores, but that it can do so in SOME my boyfriend (who has severe cystic acne when he strays from the diet) uses it on some parts of his face (the areas on both sides of the nose, below the eyes), and that never clogs a pore |
| Cheryl2002 04-25-2003 05:51 AM | http://www.zerozits.com/Articles/article6.htm#inglist It says coconut oil and sesame oil are comedogenic....and that titanium dioxide is safe.....? Why? |
| Wai 04-25-2003 05:57 AM | why they say this? because they believe it, i guess i guess they also believe that acne is caused from the outside, and that you can eliminate your acne by properly washing your face? (with 'the right' products) if a chemical is considered safe, it generally means that it is safe in the sense that it does not cause cancer what they don't measure, is to what extend it kills skin cells (without causing skin cancer) it is all a matter of what it is that you measure, and what is considered okay |
