I have some questions about pityriasis. I got this skin condition shortly after starting the "wai says" diet. I have never had anything like it before, and its not going away. I have had it for nearly 2 months and the only connection I make in my mind as to the source is diet perhaps raw eggs especially?. (although the cause is really unknown, by some sources)

Is this related at all to raw foods, and eating raw animal foods in particular?
Thanks!

no one knows what causes it, but this (harmless) rash is not caused by a fungus or bacteria, so, there is no reason to think it is caused by consuming 'infected' raw food
But if you think its the eggs, why dont you eat fresh raw fish instead of egg yolks for a while to see whether it makes a difference?
Have you been to a dermatologist? (has the rash been properly diagnosed?)

anyone can get it, but children, young adults and acne patients are more prone to this rash
there is no cure
the rash occurs in clusters among contacts, and averagely lasts 6 weeks, but sometimes lingers for months
recurrence is rare
