Hi, I just wonder what would happen if I just never clean my face {even if I have oily skin}, will this cause acne?

Thank you

yes, it is necessary
regarding hygiene, and also regarding acne, eventually (not within the first days).
you certainly shouldn't clean your face more than once or twice a day though, because that will dehydrate the skin, which the skin may counteract by producing more sebum

given that you clean your skin daily, you cannot possibly get acne from not washing more often

Oh thats a surprise for me, i thought no cleaning at all is the best i could do for my skin [Big Grin]

Before your diet i washed my face either with some toothpaste when i showered (because i had to use it for my teeth) or with the ordinary piece
of soap (because i had to use it for my hands).
That was all that ever came into my wonderfull simple world of skincare.

First it was a little weird to let this very oily/megasoft (something between) skin like it was but i got used to it.

But well... i think i can get used to a little bit of soap and toothpaste again ... [Smile]

no, no, no, I'm NOT talking about SOAP (or toothpaste!), but about taking a bath / shower daily!
Please don't use the soap; it dehydrates your skin

Hi Schmolch! You are so cute....fancy able to withstand not cleaning your face! I strongly recommend that you follow Wai's advice to use rose water. It should be easily available in any pharmacy shops. It leaves a superb feel on your face! Plus, Wai also agreed taht we can use this Chanel's scrub (it starts with 'Gommage' something). When I read about this in the old thread I got so elated that I went to buy it immediately! I have used it once and am glad that my skin reacts well to it. To be honest I am concerned with dead skin cells and debris etc getting stuck on my face hence am so glad to be able to use the scrub to perform a more thorough cleansing! Thank you Wai !

Cheryl, please don't get too concerned 'with dead skin cells and debris etc getting stuck on your face', because rinsing your skin too well has adverse effects, exacerbating acne instead of preventing it

Wai, I have a question . . .

Since I wear makeup, removing it at night thoroughly is kind of difficult and there always seems to be some makeup residue left on, even in the morning. How should I properly remove this makeup (concealer and powder) without over-agitating my skin. (I use rosewater and volvic now)

Yeah i know about all these discussions and concerns about the right cream and the right cleanser and the right makeup and stuff.

Its just that theres is a selective mechanism in my brain that filters things.
Everything that looks to much like "girlish" gets a pink sign and will be filtered out so it cant reach my brain, while everything else gets a blue sign and is free to go ahead.

@cheryl2002
thx for your advice, maybe this rosewater will someday make it through my filter, but chanel-stuff is definitely too pink for me (runs away)

dont be upset, im just kidding!
(though it has a true "core")

Hello Schmolch,

hee....I do get your drift Mr Blue guy! In any case I think you really don't need to be too conscious abt cleansing your face since you are a guy and you don't put anything on your face at all to begin with, right? Honestly as long as you stick to Wai's diet, pimples really clear up fast! I am looking forward to totally acne and scars-free day so I can put my best naked luminious face forward!

Take care n hv fun!
