Dear Wai & all,

I am so happy to find out from messages which that you had posted last year that you find Chanel Gommage mask acceptable!

As such, I really hope you can enlighten and advise whether the following are acceptable:

1) Cellex-C Vit C Serum - I know you don't advocate Vit E, but is Vit C ok?
2) Prescriptive Time proof lotion?
3) Eye Balm or the lotion from La Mer
4) Treatment Essence from SK2 - its main ingredient is Pitera, a form of derived yeast

But as you can see, the above are all expensive skincare products, does taht mean their ingredients are all too strong and harsh for our skin? Would you rather we use milder lotion from Nivea or Neutrogena series? Or somethign mroe natural form Body Shop or Orgins?

Please advise - Thank you very much!!!!!!

hi Cheryl,
i've little time left today (reponding to your post is the last thing i can do on the board today), and just enough to touch 1 or 2 topics of your post, but i'll be back

i'm sorry, but it isnt
vit c is an acid, and, though it is an anti-oxidant inside the body, it has pro-oxidative properties when exposed to the skin, and thus it will accelerate aging of the skin

no, absolutely NOT
in general, the more expensive products contain less of the (cheaper) harsh chemicals that are 'required' to give that mixture that certain smell, colour etc, and to make it last
More money (generally) buys more sophisticated chemicals that are les harsh

they all sell both good and bad products
what matters, is what chemicals these products contain, and thus we need to look at these specific contents...

oops, my time is up

ooops, i just realised there had remained some unanswered questions in this particular thread, so i'll try to answer them now...

Whitening powder foundation?
Do you have a coloured skin?
Why would you want to use a whitening powder foundation?
You better switch to a normal foundation and show your true colours…

Yes, Shu-Uemura is a very good brand, and if your skin is happy with it...

i'm sorry, but i dont know them...

only masks that are soft on your skin
there are also masks that can be used to give your skin a 'boost'; when you're deadly tired but have date, then an 'emergency' 'vitamin-boost mask' can give your skin a little lift, but remember that this certainly doesnt make your skin healthier

you can have a beaty day once a week
start it with drinking as much water as you can
right before taking a steam facial (only for a few minutes); to have your pores sweat out the dirt {a pan filled with hot water, face over it, a towel covering your head and pan, for 3 minutes)
then wait at least 5 minutes and then proceed with a soft ‘peel’, or cleansing mask if you live in the city (pollution on your face), especially for the areas around your nose and on your chin; roll softly with your fingers over your skin, and certainly no hard rubbing, for this damages your skin
remember that when you use a facial dirt gets pulled or pushed out by the sweating of your skin, and the pores are opening up
then wait again for at least 10 minutes
then you can apply a soothing mask or lifting mask depending on what your plans are (staying at home, or a date?)
and remember rest and relaxation are essential for good results
if your are stressed or sick, you can not expect any wonders.

Prescriptive Time proof lotion?
i do not know it
what does it promise you?

quote:
Eye Balm or the lotion from La Mer
i know that a lot of women love La Mer products, for being high quality
if it feels good on your skin, and you like the results, go ahead, but stay alert
if you never tried it make sure to get at least 2 samples so that you can try it for at least one week, before actually buying the product.

quote:
what do you think of treatment Essence from SK2 - its main ingredient is Pitera, a form of derived yeast
Pitera (extracted from fermented rice, originally for the making of sake) accelerates the renewal of skin cells, which means that it also accelerates the aging process, making your skin turn old sooner
initially, your skin looks great (and younger), because of the accelerated renewal, but eventually, the renewal capacity of the skin will be exhausted sooner...
