| kathitep80 11-04-2002 11:13 PM | To cleanse the face, I have been trying for the past three days, tea tree oil wiped clean with Volvic, it seems to be working, is this alright? Also, I have been trying to gain access to the cocnut oil website for the cocnut oil that you reccomended to use as a moisturizer, and i cannot connect to it, could you please let me know the site's address? I would like to buy some for a moisturizer. Thank you, BTW, my skin's condition has improved drastically from cutting out my use of stridex pads and my nivea cleaser and my oil of olay moisturizer, and I have yet to cut down my entire diet(I am still eating sweet potatoes, pasta, etc., just in moderation) |
| RRM 11-06-2002 03:04 PM | quote:I guess you mean that you wear the oil to protect your face against dehydration, and that you clean your face at the end of the day by washing with volvic, right? That is perfect, except for this specific oil, maybe. (coconut oil is good) We first need to find out what ingredients tea tree oil contains. What are the claims regarding using tea tree oil? do you know it's vitamin E contents? (it's important regarding the shedding of skin cells; the aging process) quote:Uhh, in what thread is the link? (so that I can check what the URL is; Wai is off for a few weeks) quote:How bad was your acne? Are you eating lots of fruits now? Any fresh raw egg yolks / fresh raw fish? (or cooked animal food?) |
| kathitep80 11-06-2002 07:28 PM | Actually, I was simply applying the tea tree oil morning and night and removing it with Volvic and a cotton swab, nothing else...The ingredients in the tea tree oil, which I got from the Body Shop are as follows: water, alcohol, tea tree oil, polysorbate 60, and zenotonium benzo(ate?)or 8. So, now instead, I should just rinse with Volvic?I definitely need a moisturizer, but I now refuse to use anything but natural products, so I ordered the coconut oil, from the internet, which i should get in a few days...(I figured out the website that I was looking for, it's Virgin Coconut Oil from Tropical Traditions....) I am thrilled with this diet, and I would just like to say to everyone who has acne, that it is a gift, it is our body's way of telling us that something isnt right. I believe we are all extremely lucky to have been exposed to this truthful information, and we can now all be shining examples to the rest of the world to share this healthy healing truth with them!!! Thank you Wai. In answer to your question, my acne was moderate...The reason caausing me to search the web for help was b/c I slowly developed these two HUGE DISGUSTING PUSS filled DEEP pimples (more like mountains sitting on top of craters, I know, gross) one on either corner of my mouth, which only got progressively worse, no matter what topical treatment or cleanser i used. They would NOT GO AWAY OR HEAL, I had them for nearly two months... they were never ending huge raw holes, and I just didnt know what to do, and when I stopped cooking all of my veggies and pastas in olive oil, which I did nearly every single day, they then finally slowly started to heal and to go away...other than that ( which was SO AWFUL, as I am sure you all know!) I only had a few scattered pimples on my chin and my lower jawbone, and lower cheek area. So, now that I no longer cook in oil, I eat a lot more fruit, Brazil nuts, tomato cucumber salads, and the sashimi Salmon, which does wonders for my skin...I still occasionally eat pasta, but oddly(and sadly) enough, I now feel sick after eating it! At first i felt a little weird after eating the sashimi, and now I feel great after eating the sashimi, and sick and lethargic after eating the pasta! I can see how I am addicted to whatever is in prepared foods, b/c even when i am full, i still dont feel satisfied after eating fruits, and I am so glad to know that its just b/c my bod is in withdrawal!! Needless to say, my friends and family think i am psycho, but they shut up when they see how much better my skin looks...and it's only going to get better AAAAAAAAAAALLLEEELLUUJIAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!! |
| RRM 11-07-2002 07:27 AM | Thank you for your inspiring post! When did you start changing your diet? quote:Well, alcohol is very much a dehydrating agent (which aggravates acne). I actually would like to know what the active ingredients of tea tree oil are, so not the additives (the water, alcohol etc.), but the oil itself. All oils contain ingredients (such as vitamin E), and these ingredients make the properties of the oil. quote:As a ceansing agent, you can use cucumber juice or rosewater. You can use the water to rinse of the cucumber juice (no need to rinse of the rosewater) quote:Oil is the most effective 'moisturizer' (it prevents the dehydration of the skin) quote:Ah, okay, this one: http://www.tropicaltraditions.com/virgin_coconut_oil.htm quote:Yes, when you eat mainly cooked foods, the natural instincts of your body are overpowered by the influence of the sedative and addictive beta-carbolines and opioid peptides. The more raw foods you eat, the less numbed, and thus the louder will be the voices from your body. Now your body will tell you what actually it's responses are to the foods that you eat. If the foods ingested are not okay, it will tell you so. The more and longer that you eat raw foods, the less your body will accept bad foods. quote:Well, it can also be that you are not ingesting enough energy. You better keep a close watch on your weight; unwanted weightloss should be counteracted as soon as possible. For advice about that, check out the 'gaining muscles' forum. |
| siroon 01-15-2003 03:29 PM | Hello, Can I use a couple drops of tea tree oil on my moist face after washing with cucumber juice as a moisturizer? Thank you |
| Wai 01-15-2003 03:31 PM | hi siroon, i've moved your post to this thread, because its about your question... please read the thread first... washing your face with cucumber juice is perfect, and using a couple drops of oil is fine too... but tea tree oil? please also check out this thread: link |
| siroon 01-15-2003 10:09 PM | quote:Thank you for answering about tea tree oil. I will discontinue using it. Can I use walnut oil that is being sold for cooking as long as it's pure walnut oil without any vitamin E added? Thanks :-) |
| Wai 01-16-2003 07:22 AM | yes, it is best to buy the oil that is meant to be consumed (more stringent regulations), with NO vitamin E added. |
| rawbebe 01-24-2003 03:25 AM | Wai: Tea tree oil is a pure ingredient, not the mixture of any other ingredients. It's the oil from a tree native to Australia that was initially discovered to have natural aniseptic properties. It is used to naturally eliminate bacteria in cuts, scrapes, and is used dilluted in oral applications such as mouthwash and toothpaste. In recent studies is has been compared in a 5% concentration to a 5% concentration of benzyl peroxide for acne prevention, and shown to be as effective over time, with little or no side effects, compared to the redness and peeling that accompany use of benzyl peroxide . However, tea tree oil has shown to be less effective with a simple overnight appliction - results came after extended use. Also, there are vast differences in the recommended concentration of tea tree oil to solute. Some recommend nothing higher than a 5% solution, while others say that a 100% solution dabbed lightly on acne is not too harsh. However, Wai's diet discourages any substance which promotes the peeling of skin - which tea tree oil DOES. So, while some people may like tea tree oil as a topical solution to acne, it is not in accordance with Wai's diet. Also, most dilluted forms of tea tree oil come in grain alcohol, even those purchased in health stores - and I would never put alcohol on my face. If one did want to use it, I would recommend buying it in it's pure form and dilluting it with a natural oil. My personal experience with tea tree oil has not been all that great. For me, it did cause redness and peeling, though it has a very nice tingling feeling when applied. I would be more likely to use it for a cut or oral application in toothpaste than as a solution to acne. |
