As long as such a mask does not peel your skin too much, it is okay.
Natural food masks are the best, but if a fruit contains too much vitamin C, E or beta-carotene, it may damage your skin.
Regarding clay masks: Clay masks are especially for sensitive, light-inflammatory, or for a greasy skin. Fact is that most clay masks dehydrate the skin. Also clay-masks from the dead sea or from the shores of Israel, which are meant to sooth inflammatory skin primarily. If your clay mask gives you a tingly sensation and becomes hard, its will dry out your skin.
Other than that, are face masks a nice beauty routine; you can revitalize tired skin for a special occasion, you can fake a glow with a soft mask, you can peel the dirt clogged in your pores and it gives you a smooth skin, which is the best surface for a perfect make up for special occasions.

Stay away from those masks that promise you more mist in the skin, or that promise to fade your wrinkles.
When they promise to hydrate your skin, water-attracting molecules will enter your skin, making you retain more water; not just where you need it (in the outer skin, which is only temporary), but also in the true skin, which will make your skin sag (and what can cause acne).
Using masks a lot, you will retain more water.
Masks that promise to take away your wrinkles, contain chemicals that accelerate shedding of the skin, and thus also accelerate the aging process.

Some guidelines (besides being on the diet of course) for having a great looking skin:
1. Don’t eat after 8 in the evening (except pressed juices or juices from the juice extractor), so that your body can get rid of all the food remainders that may interfere with the repairing and cleansing of the skin during sleep (GH and ACTH secretion).
2. Go to sleep early, preferably before 10.
3. Spend as much time outside as possible; walking is the best (also regarding your weight)
4. Drink as much juices as possible, instead of whole foods. And if you don’t have to prevent losing weight, you can drink water as well.
5. Don’t smoke. Due to smoking, your skin will be less fresh, and your eyes will sparkle less. The toxic substances in cigarette smoke can affect your skin directly, but also indirectly, by drawing more attention from your defense system, that therefore has less time to balance the radicals and anti-oxidants properly.
6. You can maximally use a mild peeling once in every 2 weeks. You can have a beauty day weekly (masks etc.)
7. Eliminate stress from your life as much as possible (stress can also cause acne). Stress is the release of oxidative radicals and the breakdown of healthy tissue due to cortisol secretion.
8. You need lots of fresh air during sleep. So, you need a very warm bed and an open window. (not being warm enough is stress too)
9. You need to use low mineral (soft) water only, for to cleanse your face as well to drink it. Tap water contains aggressive chemicals and dehydrates your skin.
10. A day/night crème that suits your skin perfectly.

Wai, exactly what masks would be ok (cause the least amount of peeling)? do you use them? and is you do, which kind?

Chanel masks are great.

I'm sorry, but you need creme that suits you, depending on working / living in that particular environment you are in; humidity, much/little oxygen, cigarette smoke etc. etc. So, that really depends; there is no creme that suits everybody, just as there is no creme that suits every skin type, as there is no creme that is good in any climate / humidity etc.
All these factors co-determine whether a particular creme feels fine for you.

Maybe I was unclear in my recommendations (previous post, advice number 10);
You don't NEED a creme, but IF you do use a creme, it better is a creme that suits you perfectly, and if that is not the case, it is better to use NO CREME AT ALL.

ok i went to the chanel homepage to see whats available there and i only see a couple:

Mask Force Hydratante: Luxurious soothing mask provides comfort and continuous hydration to skin surface. Gently fragranced.(Ingredients - Formula containing hydrogel and ceramides binds water in skin, creating an intense hydrating action.)

Masque Pureté Express: Refreshing deep-cleansing mask removes impurities, gently exfoliates the skin without stripping and absorbs excess oil. Gently fragranced. (Ingredients - Formula with salicylic acid helps exfoliate and remove impurities, naturally derived bio-ecolia to help maintain skin's natural bacteriologic balance, and glycerin to soften skin.)

Gommage Éclat Express: Delicately-textured dual-action gel quickly exfoliates dulling dead cells with gentle mechanical and chemical action. (Ingredients - Jojoba grains and lactic acid to provide mild non-abrasive exfoliation; hydrating microspheres to soften skin's surface.)

Which one of these seems to be the most safe? they are all recomended to be only used once a week but i'd only be planning on using it once every 2 weeks.

thanks wai
