| vasc 06-07-2003 02:47 PM | Hello, I am a 25 year old male with acne on my belly, back and chest. My body skin is all dry and flaky. I decided to try this diet because, well, I had nothing to loose if it did not work. I will describe my food experiments after sticking to the sample diet for one week and a half. Just because it does no harm to me does not guarantee it will be the same for you, but here goes... First some background: I had been eating a low-carb diet for quite some time. This made the transition to Wai's diet much easier because I had got off my addiction to bread already. I started with a diet basically consisting of these things: Fruits: oranges, apples, bananas. Salad: cucumber salad with lots of olive oil. Protein: orange juice with egg yolks or egg yolks with sugar. I consumed two egg yolks per day. My constipation got worse. After having no stool for three whole days I suspected the bananas were giving me trouble and stopped eating them. Unfortunately the harm had already been done. Two more days passed and still no stool. I started gulping the salad's olive oil to see if it would help (maybe gasoline tastes better?). It did not. Yet I continued gulping that awful thing. After one week and a half had passed nearly all my white/yellow heads vanished. I still had red marks on my skin and some dry small red pimples. That is basically how I am today. Still no stool. So I used these small glycerin enemas to get something out. Meanwhile I was starving despite having my belly full of fruit. Only time the whole day I felt really satisfied was after eating the eggs. I was having trouble sleeping by now. I felt palpitations. Measured my blood pressure and it was 12 max, 10 min. I suspected the colesterol from the egg yolks. Stopped eating the egg yolks with orange juice for two days. My blood pressure lowered to 11 max, 9 min. But this made me even more famished. Decisions, decisions. I hate fish. So what the heck, I decided to try eating some beef to see if it would make things worse or not. So I started eating a small steak once a day. Fried in a pan with a teensy amount of butter without salt and water. With laurel to add flavour. My pimples did not get worse. My blood pressure lowered to 10 max, 8 min. The protein and colesterol of the beef made me feel great the whole day and I slept like a baby in the first week. To relieve my constipation I started eating spinach soup every day. It helped a lot. The past week I had a cheeseham pizza with my friends and the next day I had whiteheads. They were *huge* in the morning of the second day but subsided by the end of that day because of my salt free diet. Here is my diet now: Breakfast and between meals: Oranges, apples, cherries, melon. Lunch: Oranges. Beef fried with a tea spoon of butter w/o salt, water and laurel. Lemon juice is also ok. Dinner: Oranges or melon. Spinach soup (w/o salt of course). Pea and potato soup (w/o salt) is also safe to me. Problems: soup without salt tastes like cement. I have to find something to make it taste ok. Next experiments I will make: - prove salt is the cause for my whiteheads once and for all by eating the same diet I eat now, just with lots of table salt. - see if black pepper causes whiteheads. - try with different herbs to see if I can get my soup tasting ok. I consulted the USDA Food Database: Beef has some sodium (i.e. salt). However egg yolks and fresh tuna have about the same amount of sodium per weight unit hence beef is not worse in this regard. Most fruits have no sodium at all. Cheese, bread, ham and bacon have lots of sodium. Hence no wonder that pizza made me break out. Milk, carrots and spinach have about twice the amount of sodium in beef. Human milk has half the amount of sodium of beef. Potatos and peas have no sodium at all. Sorry for the long rant. Thank you Wai for pointing me on the right direction! ![]() |

On the other hand, some people are lucky, and only need to adjust their normal diet on a few points to get the results they want, but generally that is not the case. BTW; the constipation may also not get eliminated if you don't stick to the sample diet. quote:In the beginning it may, since you already may have been constipated (no direct elimination = more accumulation = worse) quote:They are not constipating. If only you were on the sample diet long enough, you would have noticed. quote:That means that you need to consume more nutrient dense foods (such as juices) instead of whole fruits. quote:That is what a lack of energy does. quote:A lack of energy Not the good cholesterol. quote:You probably wount be able to eliminate the acne then. quote:Are you acne free? quote:link RRM |

But when I started the sample diet all my consipation went away in the first week, I thought I'd had a bady after 2 days. So to totally rid yourself of constipation you should stick to the strict diet. I also didn't add any sugar to anything as Its all in the fruit. And I didn't eat any other vegetables other than Advocado,Cucumber,Tomatoes. If you still have constipation try the strict sample diet, it does sort it out. |
