Hello,
I had been following a mostly raw diet for about 2 months. I was having a problem with bloating and constipation so I assessed my diet. (Constipation had been a problem before I started eating raw, but now it was accompanied by serious bloating.) Regretfully, I pulled out all dehydrated foods including dehydrated fruits and crackers as well as most raw nuts. But I was still having a problem. So recently I started eating citrus in the morning (usually grapefruit), sub acid fruit for lunch like pear or apple, and steamed vegis for dinner including brocolli, parsnip, kale, beet seasoned with herbs, garlic, lemon, flaxseed oil and celtic salt. And I might have an avacado with mashed garlic, lemon and celtic salt whenever I'm hungry and need a quick snack either in the afternoon, before my main dinner or after my main dinner meal. I have started to follow some food combining rules so I can improve my digestion.
I have been taking enzymes and probiotic (sometimes in dairy form.)
The problem is that I am still constipated.
What is going on?
I am trying to lose weight and relieve my constipation.

I was also wondering if I could eat a product that contained raw pine nuts, dates, carob and butterscotch flavoring. (its a raw "chewy caramel" bar and all the ingredients are listed above)
Wai, do you have any suggestions regarding the constipation and weight loss? What would be the best fruits, vegis, etc... to eat? Are steamed vegis ok?

peace & joy!

Hello Monticello!

Steamed vegetables can cause constipation too...
If you really want to eliminate your constipation, please follow the 100% strict sample diet first
Then, after you have noticed the difference clearly, you can start adding 'bad foods' back into your diet to the extend that you dont get constipated again

excessive fiber causes bloating
so, if you want to eliminate the bloating, you need to reduce the intake of fiber, which means replacing whole fruits by pressed / extracted juices until suffice

regarding weightloss; following my diet, loss of overweight is ensured

Dairy products all cause consitipation. The dairy derived probiotic could very well be the culprit here. I cannot have even the tiniest bit of such things without a reaction, including bloating.
