| moydodyr 05-07-2003 08:36 AM | OK, I am trying to give it a go today. Cleaned out the fridge, threw out the milk carton, bread, rice and spaghetti. Today ate a bucket of fruit, sashimi, fresh eggs and a mix of nuts. 2 pears 2 apples 300 grams of nuts 4 plums 2 mandarins 2 avocados 1 cucumber 1 carrot 1 coconut 1/2 pineapple 1/2 a crude salmon 8 eggs ... despite all of the above at the end of the day I felt so hungry I couldnt resist and popped into a restaurant for a hearty serving of meat and potatoes... aaah, much better ... no matter how many fruits I stuffed into myself, I still felt hungry. My mouth watered and stomach growled at the thought of rice and spaghetti... ... I still cant see how can it work... arent grains and cereals the base of the "food pyramid"? ... Any of you over 80 kgs of muscle and doing heavy physical exercise daily? Please post how much you eat, what I am doing doesnt seem right ![]() |
| jay_1 05-07-2003 11:26 AM | Assasin, It was a similar experience for me as well. When you begin the diet it is normal to encounter severe, sometimes painful food withdrawls. These eventually will go away with time, eat small amounts of dirty protein food to calm these craving until the craving are no longer a problem(thats what i did.) Make sure you drink enough orange juice mixed with sufficient sugar and extra virgin olive oil(cold pressed)added, so that you don't get skinny. The OJ will give you extra energy to burn. Spread a bunch of tiny meals throughout the day, don't just eat 3 large meals. I hope this helps a little. I'm sorry I can't anwer any of your other questions, I'm sure Wai will be able to. I'm am still learning. |
| ninesky 05-07-2003 12:33 PM | When I first eliminated all of the addictive foods I had the same sensation in my stomache as I had in my throat when I quit smoking(I spent a summer on an island with a 5 pack per day habit and then quit cold turkey). I have a very different type of hunger on this diet, it is feeling tired, depressed, and unmotivated in varying degrees. |
| ninesky 05-07-2003 12:40 PM | Oh and I really recommend the orange juice/sugar/olive oil drink. It's the easiest way for me to get plenty of energy and is the easiest way for me to get back on the wagon if I ever fall off the diet for a day or two. Also there aren't any necesary nutrients in grains that you won't find in the sample diet and you can submit it to the nutrient calculator to be sure you're getting everything you need here |
| Isis 05-07-2003 03:35 PM | Stones are bursting with nutritious minerals. Should we eat them too? Same goes for cereals. . |
| Wai 05-09-2003 11:32 AM | quote:then you need to consume more energy dense foods quote:he, he, that is your addiction quote:in fact, there isnt a single nutrient they contain that isnt sufficiently supplied by fruits / animal food quote:RRM is / does check out his diet: link |
| Wai 05-09-2003 11:40 AM | quote:due to a lack of energy; you need to consume more energy-dense foods, and you need to ingest energy more often, and you need to consume sufficient fat with every meal |
| moydodyr 05-10-2003 05:13 AM | Thanks Wai, so basically you recommend 4 liters of freshly squeezed orange juice, with sugar (what type of sugar is best?) and olive oil... to be consumed through the day... that should enable me to gain muscle? I cant eat any rice at all? If I could just add rice, that would be perfect. Rice is so cheap, easy to get and has that slow-release energy output that is great. Will it cause me to break out? ...he, he, that is your addiction... Its getting a bit better today, but I am definitely losing weight at the moment... not good. in fact, there isnt a single nutrient they contain that isnt sufficiently supplied by fruits / animal food but arent grains more "slow-release" than fruits? One meal of rice can keep me going for half a day, but fruit I have to keep eating... |
| RRM 05-11-2003 04:02 PM | Yes, grains are more 'slow release', but that is not what you need. What you need, is sufficient energy all the time. For that, you need to ingest energy all the time. If I don't carry OJ with me all the time, and zip from it constantly, I lose muscle weight. And when I manage to to do it right, I gain muscle weight again. Really, energy management is the KEY factor. If you lose weight, your energy management needs to improve. Simple as that. Every second that your blood energy levels are a bit lowered, muscle protein is being converted into available energy. You were used to eating only a few meals a day. Now you need to learn to ingest energy 10 times as often. Rice definitely makes ME break out. RRM |
| moydodyr 05-13-2003 04:04 AM | Man, that sounds like a full time job... where do you find time to have 10 meals a day? |
| banned 05-13-2003 06:49 AM | I was surprised how good I felt yesterday, I had 8 meals yesterday, a bananna and salad with olive oil every 2 periods at school, then continued it at home. I wasn't hungry at all. I just hope I get enough protein since I can't handle egg yolk and i can't buy sashi anywhere, I hope I don't get too sore from squating the 530 lbs.... |
| Wai 05-16-2003 12:38 PM | Banned, do you eat Brazil nuts? why cant you handle egg yolk? you better buy fresh raw salmon (it doesnt have to be sashimi or fish from a japanese restuarant) you may consider taking supplementary free amino acids: link quote:RRM didnt say 10 meals a day, but 10 times as often... he zips from his juices all day, so he easily consumes energy way over 20 times a day |
| moydodyr 05-18-2003 09:25 AM | quote:I bought an orange juice squeezer, I'll try the juice-oil-sugar mix from tomorrow, hopefully weight loss will stop (so far lost 1.5 kg in 5 days, and I eat a bucket of fruit plus salmon and eggs every day...) What do you think about bodybuilding supplies? Whey protein powder and similar supplements? Will they cause acne? |
| Wai 05-18-2003 02:11 PM | they will absolutely cause acne (very much) except for liquid free amino acids (100% pure, 100% free, not from hydrolised protein)) |
