| lbean 10-07-2002 12:05 PM | hi wai, thanks for helping me out with the registration, i'm new to this whole bulletin board so i apologize in advance if i click on the wrong button and post on the wrong place. anyway, i've been on the diet strictly for 1 week now, overall texture is better thru out the week but i had sashimi twice within the week and the very next day i got 2 new big cysts on my chin but you said that sashimi does not cause this to happen so i had sashimi again on saturday and sure enough i got another cyst right next to the one that was trying to heal. i guess in my case i cannot digest the sashimi well or could it be that i have not had any food high in protein thru out the week then all of a sudden protein overdose. also, the whiteheads starting to surface therefore my skin is getting better but not looking so good at the same time. i wonder if there is anything i can do in the mean time to reduce the size of these monster cysts. i'm thinking of going to a derm. to get cortisone shots.. thank you so much |
| Taylor 10-07-2002 01:13 PM | Same thing happened to me with the Sashimi. Later I asked and found out the fish had been frozen. Not only heat, but freezing causes dirty protein and results in acne. Always ask before you order, it saves one alot of grief. |
| Wai 10-07-2002 01:54 PM | Thank you Taylor. Also, some of us also can break out if we consume too much fish in one day. We easily eat 8 oz of fish to get satisfied, while eating more than 4 oz can already make you break out. That is why I advice not to eat more than 3.5 oz of fresh raw fish or egg yolks. (rule number 1 of the Sample Diet) MAybe it was just fish that had been frozen, but maybe you are one of those that need to be careful about their protein intake as well. It is better to eat fresh raw fish / egg yolks daily, and not to consume more than 3.5 oz a day. And of course, you first need to make very sure that the fish has not been in the freezer at any point. |
| lbean 10-07-2002 07:02 PM | thank you for info. i guess i just assume that if i go to a good japanese sushi place, it would definitely be fresh, i was wrong about that. but how would one transport the fish with keeping it in ice or something like that to keep it fresh. i went to market to look for fish but they are all in ice?? i live in san francisco, does anyone know where to get the absolute fresh fish in this town?? thanks again |
| Wai 10-08-2002 12:43 AM | quote:On transport, they have to be in ice, indeed. But then only the skin gest in direct contact with the ice. The flesh does not get frozen; its temperature will remain between 0 and 1 degrees celcius; which is okay. |
