| new_n 02-27-2003 06:57 PM | Wai, as you can learn from my previous post, I experimented a bit with Chinese acupuncture and herbs for my beloved acne. When I was a kid, I had astma, I was compeletely!! cured just by several years of acupuncture ( same applies to my brother).I had a positive experience with it, that's why I decided to give it a try ( though, being exteremely skeptic inside) What do I have to loose anyways, needles ( when done properly, have no side effects, compare to antobiotics) I did some research, and thats what I found. I will oversimplify just to make the point In Chinese medicine some conditions are called "cold" and some "hot". Acne is classified as "hot" one. Again, it's not that simple, but you got the idea. Generally, "hot" conditions are treated by diet modification among other treatments. All food is also either cold or hot. HEAT CONDITIONS LIKE ACNE IS USUALLY TREATED BY "COLD" FOODS DIET COLD FOOD: cucumber, tomato, banana, watermelon, grapefruit, fish, starwberry, rice, tangerines, apples, watermelon, mango, oranges, pears, pineapple, almonds and others (like brocoli, turnip ...) HOT FOOD: peppers, hot chillies/spices, coffe, chocolate, lamb, onoins, garlic, alcohol, butter, beef, chicken, ham, turkey, shrimp, egg yolk, garlic, ginger, potato, vinegar, wine In my case, whenever I eat any item from "HOT" list, guaranteed I'll break out You can draw your own conclusions from this data |
