Hiya all,

My name is Isis and I have been on the diet for three days now. I am very lucky to live in an area where there are lots of shops selling exotic fruits that I enjoy. I started the diet because I have severe acne in my upperarms! This started in the summer of 2002 and that area is so scared now you will think I had chicken pox. I have some acne on my face and back, but they don't really bug me as much as the ones on my arms.

On the second day I noticed that I was sweating buckets. This is very unusual for me so it must have been due to my new diet. Also I am getting really angry over things that did not used to bother me in the past. I am scared that I might hit someone cus I get so MAD!! I don't know what to do about that. I used to be so calm and able to control my emotions just like that. I do consume a LOT of olive oil and avocado...maybe that is why?

The sweating thing has subsided today. I also slept for ages yesterday afternoon! Then at night I could not sleep. I don't get hungry as fast as I did at the begining becuase my egg yolk intake has gradually increased.

Please tell me if the anger thing is common and whether it will go away too(like the sweating) cus I don't want to get into a fight.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Isis, welcome to the board!

Wow, that is weird, because there are hardly any sebum canals in your upper arms...

That is a normal reaction when your blood sugar level decreases too much. When I'm active and forget to ingest food / energy, I always get a 'sweat-attack', which includes feeling shaky and weak (a 'claustrophobic' experience).

To solve this issue:
You need to get used to ingesting energy much more constantly than before. With this diet, you need to eat much more often, because the meals are uatomatically smaller.
Also, it is VERY important to eat fat with every meal.

That is caused by the same: too much fluctuating blood sugar levels, which highly influences your serotonin metabolism, making you moody, and/or depressed.

It is certainly not caused by eating fat.
It is perfect that you eat enough fat. Now you just need to ingest enough sugars all the time as well.

Yes, even Ghandi would have expereinced it in your place.

Yes, it is all in your hands; only you can make it go away.

Thanks Wai.

Luckilly since I posted that message I havent had a recurrence of the sweating or uncontrolled anger. I think I have taken to the diet like a duck to water because for most of my life (especially before the age of 17) I have lived almost solely on fruits and peanuts! I think my body has a lot of those enzymes needed to digest fruits completely. My facial skin is already looking smooth and soft! :-)

Is it important to drink low mineral bottled water and use it to wash your face? I haven't done that. I still use soap on my face and I don't even know where to get cucumber water (I read someone's post about using it on the face). I don't even rub any oil/water on my face. I just leave it like that. Is that okay or should I change my current regime?

The other day I suffered from a complete lack of appetite. I had to force myself to eat at least three times that day. It was most unpleasant. My appetite is back now but do you think it's a bad idea to force yourself to eat when you are not hungry or craving anything at all (especially if it has gone on for like 9 hours)? If I hadn't done that then I would have gone for a whole day without eating. I have always done this (force feeding in the absense of appetite) but I'm begining to think that I am not respecting my body's wishes because you always say that nature knows best!

Thanks Wai.

I hope your diet becomes the norm for acne treatment.

If you drink lots of juices, you don't need the water, but WHEN you drink water, it needs to be bottled low mineral water (or distilled water).

Washing your face with normal (tap) water CAN cause acne (in some, not in all of us), so that when you still get acne, you should start washing with bottled (or distilled) water instead of tap water. but if your skin is clear, it obviously is no issue in you.

That dehydrates your skin, and accelerates the aging of your skin. Please check out the skincare forum.

You can buy it shops, or make it yourself (in a blender or extractor); please check out the skincare forum.

even if it doesn't affect your acne, it does affect the aging of your skin, and slowing down the aging process is important too, right?

I will answer that in your 'loss of appetite thread'
