| Schmolch 08-21-2002 04:16 PM | hello all. My main problem isnt akne, and its even not my overweight. I hope i will sleep better and get more energy through this diet. Lack of energy is by far my biggest problem since my childhood (im 25 now). Im working from 7am to 4pm and i really enjoy eating a mars chocolate bar together with coca cola every day around 3pm. Is that within the limits? thats all munchfood i need at the moment. Pleeease say its okay )Greetings from germany, Sascha |

By this I mean if you're following Wai's diet to be rid of acne, then you could eat what you want so long as it doesn't cause acne for you. Similair would apply no matter what your reasons. That is by no means authorative, but is just my understanding. Perhaps Wai will want to add some authority; I might be wrong. |
| Wai 08-22-2002 06:07 AM | Hi Sascha, quote:OK, then you must be very susceptible to the suppressing chemicals: opioid peptides (in wheat- and dairy products) and beta-carbolines (in all cooked foods). These chemicals suppress your energy. Also, you might be serotonin sensitive; serotonin plays an important role in weight regulation, sleep, mood and energy level. See http://www.13.waisays.com The most efficient foods to address this issue are first of all: - fresh raw egg yolks (because of the good cholesterol, which activates serotonin receptors) - and fresh raw fish (because of the combination of high B3 and high tryptophan; both B3 and serotonin are composed of tryptophan; the extra tryptophan improves serotonin metabolism and the extra B3 makes sure less tryptophan needs to be converted into B3) But also the following foods, since they contain much tryptophan relative to the amount of phenylalanine and leucine (the latter 2 inhibit the production of serotonin): - dried dates - papaya - strawberries - sweet cherries - mango Furthermore, to address the energy issue, you also need to make sure to consume much fruit juices instead of whole fruits. If you don't have a juice extractor yet, you might consider to buy one. A blender doesn't help, since then you will still ingest all the fiber, which costs your body energy instead of supplying you with energy. Also make sure to add some oil and a bit sugar to the juices. Orange juice is, of course, very simple to make, and very effective. PLEASE keep us updated, will you? quote:If you have acne, and you want to eliminate it, you need to do the 'sample diet' first, during 2 weeks. Once you skin is totally clear, you can start experimenting with how much 'munch food' your skin can cope with, without getting acne again. Of course, you can also try it differently, but most people who do so, end up being very confused about what foods cause acne in them, and to what extend, and then you end up giving up the diet. I strongly recommend you first try the very strict 'sample diet', to prevent any confusion, to clear your skin, and to strenghten your determination and willpower. |
| Wai 08-22-2002 06:12 AM | Hi Brian, Thank you for answering Sascha. The reason why acne patients first need to do the 'acne sample diet', is because we are individually different, and it is impossible to tell what foods exactly cause acne to what extend in a specific individual. So, that when you still consume some munch foods, you don't know which one is causing it, or that the diet may not work for you. And that affects your determination and willpower. Having your skin cleared first, PROVES that the diet works for you, so that no future setback / relapse (due to experimentations) can destroy your determination. The Sample diet is essential in acne patients as a 'safe heaven', upon which your willpower and determination to maintain the diet, is based. Without this base, almost everybody will end up giving up such a strict diet. (I've seen that many times) |
| Schmolch 08-22-2002 02:21 PM | The energy-problem is so important to me that i sure will act on your advice _very_ seriously. Ill do a big shopping tour tomorrow to get all those fruits which are exactly those i have never eaten before. I also have never been drinking larger amounts of fruit juices because my teeth dont like them (i cant clean my teeth for 2 days when i drink 2 glasses of pure orange juice because it hurts when they get touched). But my dentist can sure fix this. Thanks a LOT, Sascha |

It is normal that 'one doesn't like to brush one's teeth' immediately (within an hour) after having consumed fresh orange juice, and you don't need to; the acids in the (pure) juices have a similar cleaning effect as brushing. Consuming animal food, however, you do need to brush, because these foods cause that white plague on your teeth. |
