| Author | Topic: My acne is herpes simplex |
| Frevor 10-27-2002 01:27 PM | Hello, I have been on this diet for 5 months now. I find it very easy to maintain and relatively cheap for such high life force. I can not say that my acne has really cleared up much but I believe that my acne is viral related. So, for those of you that this diet does not work for, it may be "herpes simplex" related. Either way, this diet has helped me clean house and rebuild my immune system, and that has helped me fight this viral acne. I haven't gotten a cold sore for the 5 months I've been on this diet. That is because herpes simplex (cold sores) usually comes about when you immune system is weakened or if you get too much Arginine Vs Lysine in your diet. So this diet works for me as long as I don't eat nuts (very high in arginine). Eventually, my immune system should be strong enough to eat the nuts, but until that day, Wai tells me that I do not need them and can do with egg yolks instead. So my viral acne (looks exactly like regular acne and not like the facial herpe pictures that are found when doing a search on the internet) has gotten a lot better, but I have had to fight on a couple different battle grounds than just food. I have been working on strengthening my immune system through working out, stress management and plenty of sleep. I read a great book called "Power Sleep" on the importance of getting up to 10 hours of sleep and repaying your sleep debt that may have accumulated over the years. I was sleeping for 12 hours a night for a couple weeks, and now wake up naturally after 9 and 1/2 or so (Humans in non-industrialized countries sleep 10 hours naturally.) I have also been rebounding (jumping on a mini trampoline) which I have heard to be one of the best forms of exercise in that it strengthens every cell in your body by working with gravity. I have also been getting into yoga and meditation which is fantastic for stress and immune building. I take up to a gram of Lysine a day for now, till I have no more problems with my acne. I should be getting my Far Infrared Sauna in the mail in a couple days which also looks very health inducing and detoxifying. So, I have just been trying to get as strong and healthy as I can, physically, mentally and spiritually. And anything that causes you to do that, can't all be bad. You really have to take anything that comes at you and learn from it in a healthy and good way. Is this diet helping me as fast as I would like? No, but it will help me in the long run. I want to live to 120 and learn everything that I need to while on this earth so that, hopefully, I do not need to return again. I also do not want food influencing my thought pattern. Flunking earth school would be a pretty rough repeat. With that said, I would like to explain what I eat everyday and see how well it seems. And also have 7 questions for Wai that I have tried to lay out in an "easy to reply" manner. Morning 1/2 Melon (Canteloupe, Watermelon or Honeydew) with a swig of Olive Oil (Extra Virgin, Cold Pressed, Organic, Lightly Filtered. The lightly filtered part, I have found, is key to a drinkable flavor. It tastes great with any fruit.) 2 Bananas followed by another couple swigs of Olive Oil Afternoon 2 Oranges 1/3 Pineapple followed with another couple swigs of Olive Oil Late Afternoon 1/3 Large Cucumber 2 Tomatoes 1 Avocado Dinner 8-10 Dried Figs (Rehydrated 24 hours in distilled water) 6 raw egg yolks (Anyone else get a nice high feeling from eating raw egg yolks?) I also include mangoes, plums, pear, and apples whenever I can fit them in or am hungry. For the most part, this diet fills me up enough that I don't have time or room to eat them all the time. Q1 Is my diet adequate? I checked it with the nutritional calendar and it wasn't 100% but it seems like it is up to par. I am 6' and about 120 pounds (thin). Sorry I don't know metrics, I am stupid American . I just started washing my face with distilled water too, which seems like it has helped a lot more this past couple weeks than in the last few months that I washed with tap water and soap Q2 Isn't distilled water mineral free (for drinking purposes?) I read your replies to some posts (I think I've read every inch of this website ) that you said that it contained minerals. From every other website I've read it says that the water is boiled and then reaccumulates without any trace minerals or calcium or chlorine and what not. In your opinion is distilled water safe to drink? I have read many websites that say that it is the most natural thing to drink and that fruit contains distilled water. I have found one website that said it is bad to drink distilled water as it leaches the minerals from your body. Again, most other websites state that it only leaches inorganic minerals and detoxifys you in this manner.Q3 With my regular diet in mind, do you think I should work on getting the orange juice thing happenin'? I just need to find a good place to buy crates of oranges at a time. Oranges are quite expensive right now, but I could hang. I understand the whole consume fat with sugar rule but I was trying to think if our ancestors would have followed this rule. Q4 Did our ancestors go around eating nuts with all their fruit? Would they know about this rule as well, naturally? Say that one was not worried about weightloss or acne in general, and was only worried about optimum nutrition and health. I know that you say that carrots are one of the best vegetables. Would you recommend any vegetables at all if one were not concerned with weightloss and acne? If enzyme inhibitors are one of the key factors to this diet, don't nuts have a lot of enzyme inhibitors? Q5 Would you recommend anything other than fruit, nuts and raw fish/eggs for immune building or general well being? I'm hoping you say no to this, because a simple diet seems more natural to me. Q6 Is your book still available for purchase? I would love to be able to show my friends and family all this information without having to rely on them getting on the internet and reading it when they have a spare couple of hours . I would also like to contribute my money to your many hours of work. I would like to comment on the fact that you are not selling anything. I think it absolutely marvelous that you are not looking to make money off of your findings. This pays high tribute to your honesty and intent to help countless others that come across this grand website. I hope that you yourself are living well for you deserve very much indeed. It's cool to hear you live in Amsterdam. I visited there a couple summers ago and found it to be the very best place I have ever been to. This brings me to another question I was pondering. In the future I would like to move to a fruitful place in order to maintain a very large fruit orchard with as many of the nutritional fruits that I would need for this diet, and perhaps a chicken coop with the happiest chickens on earth so that I could sustain myself every day without the need of purchasing fruit from others (save olive oil). So it would have to be a climate suitable to grow Avocado, Pineapple, Orange, Melons, Bananas and everything needed for this diet. (Hawaii? California? Florida?) Q7 Where would be the best place to move to in the future to be able to live, fruitfully, off the land? Well, I think that is enough blathering for my first post. I just haven't posted anything here because I was unable to get registered and finally got the time to write down some of the things I have been meaning to ask. No hurry on answering this post. Thank you for everything indeed! Thanks again, Frevor (4ever) Wai Army of Good |
| Wai 10-28-2002 03:57 PM | quote:You mean that you checked it with the nutrient calculator? If it wasn't 100%, it is essential to know regarding what recommendations (ie calcium?) quote:Yes, Scott has explained (I was referring to filtered water), and i working on info about affordable distillers. quote:If you want to gain muscle weight, juices with oil and sugar added are the most effective means on this diet. Every second that your blood sugar or -fatty acid levels are lower, muscle tissue is converted into available energy, and creating muscle volume is primarily about preventing the breakdown of muscle, besides creating it of course. quote:this diet was first designed to battle acne, not to match our ancestor's diet. I think they ate worms too quote:Why would you want to eat vegetables? If you like carrots, go ahead, but I see no reason to recommend them... quote:Depends on what nuts you are talking about. Brazil nuts and Macadamia nuts don't. (compared to most other nuts) It is not a key factor, but may be of influence in some acne patients. quote:For immune building you don't need anything else. General well being? what do you mean? health? quote:No, I'm sorry. It takes a lot of time regarding keeping it up to date (new editions) and distribution. The internet is easier quote:The biggest contribution possible, is when you help others. My time is limited, and very often people have very simple questions that can be answered by others on this board. Maybe you can be one of those that can answer them... (in accordance with my advice! )quote:that is a GREAT idea! quote:Wow, I cannot answer that... It should be a place where lots of exotic fruits can grow very well, and maybe even Brazil nut trees? (they are huge) So, it is up to you to find the right climat plus soil, I guess... Please, keep us posted! |

| Pan 11-01-2002 09:45 PM | Guys and girls, I must confess guilty of thinking the same thing, about a fruitfarm with happy chickens and maybe a pound with fish. Producing all you need to eat for excellent health. Living in a warm climate needing no energy to heat the house/cabin, heat water for showers etc. Hmmmm... not so bad idea. Maybe some day... :-) /Peter |
| mliq 05-13-2003 02:24 PM | I like this idea too but if you are in a warm tropical climate you probably will want air conditioning, I know I would. |
| Simontreally 05-14-2003 08:33 AM | Im only a student with a part time job in a DIY store. Im spending so much money on fruit, ive thought of working part time in a fruit shop instead - this way i could select the fruit i want - and get a discount, maybe ![]() |
